let's go live to kate amara at the start of the marathon. good morning, kate. >> good morning, lisa, good morning, jen. the start of the marathon, a little less than two hours away. at the starting line, they have actually just started to set up the starting line. the organizers have this down to a science now after a decade. they started to lay the mat down and the cables down so when the runners cross the starting line their times will get -- the computer will take note of their times, and then of course, to the finish line. so this year, more than 22,000 runners. for the fourth year in a row, four races sold out. we have the marathon today, the half marathon, the 5-k and the popular teaspoon marathon. when this started back in 2001, no one thought it would be this big. now it has a purse of up to $23,000. it is a purse that has drawn some of the best marathoners in the world to baltimore and keeps the excitement and the caliber of this race increasing every year. so the starting gun goes off for the marathon at 8:00. this is a baltimore ru
