i sat down with arizona governor katie hobbs to discuss that and more this week. governor, welcome to "fox news sunday," thank you for making time for us, this is a busy week for you. has has your foret as governor before? >> gov. katie hobbs: excited to be governor of arizona issue the super bowl, what a way to walk into this office and to really showcase our state. not just to the country, but the world. this will be broadcast in 200 countries and several languages, we are excited. >> shannon: taking on the governor's office, you have a slew of huge issues that meet you day one in the door. arizona is most impacted by the border situation, let's talk about that. under the previous governor, a republican, he did bussing, you said it was a waste of taxpayer money, npr now notes many democratic governors and mayors are considering the same thing. reality has helped shift transporting migrants, is that what happened? the reality of the situation, the strain on your local border communities and that kind of thing, did that change position on whether it is okay or not

late this week, the arizona court of appeals rejected lakes challenge of her loss to now governor katie hobbs. it's the second court ruling that is found zero, zilch, none, evidence to support lakes claims that she won the race. but instead of accepting her loss, she is now pledging to take her case all the way to the arizona supreme court. still pretending that her race was somehow stolen from her. and the thing is, christina cremona kari lake might never actually concede the races. after all, donald trump is still claiming two and a half years after he lost the 2020 election that somehow, he won. he laid the groundwork for these conspiracies that are now spreading like wildfire. and of course, trump wasn't promoting these lies alone. maybe, if he had those lies, wouldn't have had so much support from within the republican party. instead, the right-wing media machine amplified this disinformation and these lies, and this week, thanks to a newly unsealed court filing, we know that these amplifiers knew that these lies where, in fact, that. they realize. dozens of text messages from hosts, pro

governor katie hobbs is now seeking an ethics review from him in that case.ning me to discuss this and a whole lot more as colorado secretary of state, janet criswell. she is the chair of the democratic association of secretaries of state. secretary criswell, it is great to see you again, thank you for coming back on the show. i would like to get your thoughts on these election deniers. picking up some powerful positions within the republican party, republican chair positions, tina peters wants to do the same, it appears that these republicans are adamant about finding positions of influence to push their unfold beliefs. >> first off, thank you for having me on, always great to join you. we are continuing to see that democracy is not quite out of the woods. we are seeing conspiracy theorists run to take over states, party, republican parties. including kenneth peters who is facing seven felony counts for compromising her own voting equipment. but more than just that, a handful of election deniers are now secretaries of state overseeing the nation's elections.

arizona has a chance now with a new secretary of state, great secretary of state, great governor katy hobbst by repealing some of the really terrible laws that republicans have put in place and also making enforcement decisions. you know, we recently saw a poor woman in st. louis, arizona, was put in jail for 40 days for collecting four ballots. there's no allegation those ballots were illegally cast. she was simply helping her neighbor get those to the post office or get it in. you should know there's a highway that goes down that prevents 13,000 voters from being able to walk to the post office. and there's no at the house mail delivery there. so let's start by saying we're not going to enforce that law which is terrible law in arizona and then we're going to try to repeal it. that's one thing. second, we know arizona has had a problem with certification. reforming their certification process, we saw coaches county, arizona, refuse to certify the elections and have to be sued. arizona should clarify its laws to make clear abundantly, unmistakably clear that certification election results
