abc7 news reporter katie marzullo is monitoring developments. >> lockdown is lifted and authorities do there is further danger to the base or there are any other victims but there are a lot of unknowns that investigators need to figure out. the deadly shooting happened at the marine corps base in want coe, virginia, last night, the first sign of trouble was a 9-1-1 call at 7:30. authorities were on the scene in five minutes and they do not report hearing gunshots. police found three bodies snowed a -- three bodies inside a barracks. an active duty marine killed two fellow marines, a man and a woman and himself. the base commander called this a tragic loss for the marine corps. >> we take care our marines and their families that are dealing with this tragedy i ask for the support of our neighbors, the community and their thoughts and prayers, as well for our marines who is lost their comrades in arms. >> the commander did not take questions this morning and did not give any indication as to what the motive behind the shooting might have been. the victims' name not been released but all

abc7 news reporter, katie marzullo is live at the scene. >> the firefighter fell inside the home as you can see where the whens are broken. he fell and hurt his shoulder and treated at the hospital. no one else was hurt or inside. something different that the firefighter encountered inside this home. they say that the entire house was a massive grow house, all three floors. they don't know how many plants are inside but two floors were entirely dedicated to growing marijuana plants and one just to drying them. the fire broke out after 8:00 this morning and a neighbor saw smoke and called 9-1-1. officials say the cause was likely electrical and whoever was operating this "grow" over rode the electrical system and that sparked a fire. that is usually what you see in these cases. this morning, it was windy and the homes are all attached making for a very dangerous situation. >> very dangerous to mess around with this electricity. you can see this is often the result. there were families living on either side and the homes on either side could have potential ly had serious injuries. >> it i

. >> abc7 news reporter katie marzullo is there. what do you see, katie? >> i am on the scene looking at tow truck that just arrived and pulled the car a little bit further out from the wall. as we zoom in here you can see the damage done, a perfect imprint of the front end of the car in the rock siding of the home. this happened before 4:00 this morning. i talked with the family that lives here. one person was asleep. one person was awake. they both describe it as sounding like an earthquake. the pan i talked to if bed stayed in bed for a moment not sure what to do but the miami -- the family members called him and they saw a car crashed into their home. this is the other side of the damage, the inside of the garage, lots of damage done, lots of belongings destroyed including a dryer that has not been installed yet. police are looking for the driver and possibly a passenger in the car. a family member said he thought he saw someone running down the street. police say the suspect last seen headed down haas street south. it is a hit-and-run accident with no

abc 7 news reporter katie marzullo is live outside the meeting. >> reporter: the meeting is still going on but they finished with the portion talking about the busted bolts on the bay bridge but i was inside when they talked about what the problem is and where the problem is. we're talking about the first set of piers east of the main tower. if you take a look at this video, this is a slide that they showed inside the meeting. you see that bolt in the foreground, it's busted. you can see how it's raised up. the one behind it is how it should be, flush with the structure. those are just the top of these long steel rods that go into the concrete to hold everything together. there are 288 of them in this section and 96 of them have access issues. they're going to be very hard for crews to get to, to make the repairs. so first the toll bridge program manager will explain the problem and then you'll hear from an infrastructure analyst. >> these are tightened up with significant amounts of force so when the rods do snap they pop up basically and this is exactly what you see out in the field.
