. >> i'm kenny choi. suzy. >> reporter: well kenny and ranas you know it was a harrowing night for the store clerk here. mark has been graciously telling us his story of how this unfolded last night. he was pistol-whipped to the ground as you said inside of the market when lee was closing up last night and somehow able to reach for a gun and fire one shot at that robber and that robber died just outside of the store. this video is difficult to watch, but it really tells the whole story. he was closing up late last night. you can see him getting pistol whipped to the ground. the robber grabs as much cash as he can from the register. then you see him grabbing a gun to defend himself. he heard a shot and he had an idea there were two people in the store trying to rob him last night. that robber died outside just after he ran out of the store. police are still looking for his accomplice at this point in time. mark is a military veteran. he said this was all instinct that kicked in. take a listen what he said e

. >> and i'm kenny choi. the question right now, what happened? the five teenagers were driving just outside of pleasanton around 10:00 last night. jackie ward has more from scene. >> the main thing is how tragic this is. three people lost on christmas night. very, very sad. >> just before 10:00 last night, chp says that a single car traveling southbound on food hill swerved on to the northbound side, hitting a tree and taking out a power pole. when help arrived, they found three ceased teenagers in the car and three other teens ejected from the impact. they are alive and resupervise rating from serious injuries. debris were still scattered along the road. this is known as a dangerous intersection. >> shortly after we moved here, there were two kids that died down here by pleasanton ridge. and then several more have died up this day. so about a total of eight or nine people have died along this road. >> right now, chp is trying to determine if speed was factor. >> that car has some type of a black blocks that we can download to get more vehicle in
