kimberly? >> diane, san jose police just wrapped up their press conference and they say they are still looking for the man responsible for this crime spree which involves a shooting, carjacking, kidnapping, and now murder. this morning san jose police say they found the body of a woman inside a home on the 500 block of north 12th street, a home tied to the suspect in this case, 33-year-old paul ray castillo. police say the body is that of 61-year-old cindy nygun who police say castillo kidnapped and carjacked yesterday. just an hour after police say he shot a man in a gas station a mile away. yesterday evening police located her white 1997 lexus in east san jose and confronted a man they believed to be castillo. police shot at him but it's unclear if he was hit. a standoff then ensued but after 11 hours and an extensive search castillo was not found. he is considered armed and extremely dangerous. san jose police say capturing castillo is their number one priority right now a reward of $10,000

nbc bay area kimberly terry is in the area with the latest for us. >> reporter: diane, the coroner left at about 10:00 tonight after investigators say a team spent hours in the area where the remains were found. they were actually on their hands and knees using a lot of tools, including brushes, to make sure the remains and every bit of evidence is found. a volunteer working with the search team organized by michelle lay's family discovered the body in a remote area saturday morning. this is in the general area where hayward police say the 26-year-old cell phone pinged shortly after her disappearance. >> the body is off of what i would consider a lightly used dirt road or trail. it's not on the trail, it's off by a little ways. it's in medium brush, i would say. >> reporter: authorities say the body is badly decomposed and the gender remains unknown at this point. investigators say they have not found any articles of clothing or other evidence that directly ties the body to lay and it could take weeks to identify the remains. the nursing student was last seen may 27th. she was at haywar

let's bring in nbc bay area's kimberly terry. what happened at the construction site, and are these life threatening injuries? >> reporter: for some, they are life threatening injuries. one victim was identified as 29-year-old morizio sanchez. his sister says he's been doing construction since high school. he has a wife and two little girls. he's one of three men who are still here hospitalized in serious condition. a fourth victim was also brought here with non-life-threatening injuries. he has since been treated and released. the accident happened as workers were pouring concrete on the roof of an apartment building under construction close to at&t park. >> they were on the level just below the roof. so that's technically the sixth floor. and when the floors gave way, they were holding concrete. the concrete fell on those workers, and they fell an additional three stories. >> reporter: firefighters say they arrived to find the men covered in drying concrete but conscious. >> a significant fall. three of the workers suffered sev
