john king is joining me.e it the voters out there have strong views on the obama administration and the u.s. congress. >> they do. it's safe to say they are worried about the economy, wolf, and are mad at everybody when it comes to their politics. let's look at the first exit polls and add this up. your opinion of the obama administration, this is nationwide. people telling pollsters, 58% dissatisfied or angry when it comes to the obama administration. that's not good for the president in a midterm election year. 41% are satisfied. an important but, 36% dissatisfied and 23% angry. that's a whopping 59% when you add that up. they are mad at the obama administration but also the republicans who run the congress. let's move this over. opinion of the democratic party, the president says he's not on the ballot but his policies are. this is nationally. 53% have a unfavorable view of the democratic party. however, an unfavorable opinion of the republican party. let's take a peak here. how is congress doing its job?

let's check back with john king at the magic wall. om last night's rout? >> wolf, a great question. do 2014 results give us clues about 2016. maybe, maybe not. let's start with the senate. democrats started with 55. right. we are at 52 republicans right now. most people assume alaska will go to the republicans. in louisiana, the republican is leading that runoff is a month from now. democrats likely to keep virginia. watch this one as the count continues. assume we have 54-46. look around. what have republicans done. they picked up a senate seat in iowa. joni ernst. the ticket campaigning. picked up a seat in colorado. the president won twice. like iowa. cory gardner will be someone, seeking support in 2016. look at this map. better for republicans when you think of the presidency. come out of the map. switch over. come to the national map here. look at the governor's races. we may have gotten presidential contenders. scott walker wins a race. thought this would be close. not so much in the end. could be a 2016 contender based on 2014

i want to go to john king. in kentucky, mitch mcconnell, that is a projection we made at the top of the hour, being reelected leading allison grimes. >> she'll do better when we see the votes come in. this is early. i don't expect this to see red. jefferson county only 2% of the vote in and it is 50% to 49%. i expect it to turn blue. but it is a big battleground down here. a lot of campaigning down in eastern kentucky. if you go back to mcconnell in 2008, he lost some of these counties in eastern kentucky, so far tonight he is winning them. even if the counties change, he is holding his own in a part of the state that he struggled in when he ran six years ago. and so mitch mcconnell doing what he needs to do. now he has to wait. he wants to be the senate majority leader and he has to wait the rest of the map fill in. it scott brown win in new hampshire. can thom tillis win in north carolina. mitch mcconnell will have a clue he will become majority leader and if they don't, they will keep this coming across the

. >> so let's talk more about 2016 with cnn's chief national correspondent john king. ning, john. >> carol, one curtain closes, another open, right? look, if you're chris christie looking at this map, this is the house races last night. if you're chris christie or any republican thinking about running for president you're looking at this map and you're saying "oh, yeah, let's do it. this is a country favorable to us." but i remember to chris christie and everybody running for president -- and this applies to hillary clinton, not just republicans -- remember the whiplash. it was just six years ago president obama trounced john mccain, wins a electoral college landslide. that's 2008. then in 2010, switch to the house races, the rise of the tea party and we see wow, look at this, america is red, not blue. then you have 2012 and a presidential election and, yes, the president gave back indiana and north carolina to the republicans, he still won, but still a big electoral college landslide. and here's the map that says it all. . america is a center right country. look at the

john king and our chief national correspondent joins us from washington. that by the time people wake up wednesday morning we won't know if the gop has taken control of the senate. >> there is that chance, victor. a number of things. there is an alaska senate race that is very important. the republicans are expected to win that one. democrats are making a late get out the vote push. some of the rural areas way up, they don't count the votes until early morning, sometimes a day or two. we may be waiting on that one. plus, you're in atlanta this morning, the state of georgia a good possibility that senate race goes to a runoff between democrat and the republican. we'll see what happens on election day. if nobody gets 50% plus one that, is a runoff. the runoff in georgia is in january. also a possibility of the louisiana senate race goes to a runoff if nobody gets 50% plus one. that is in december. so we could wake up wednesday morning having a clue but not the final answer. >> all right. john king, what else is coming up here? >> we're going to you go through

let's start off with john king. walk us through some of these races. >> let's go through key races. i've assigned montana, south dakota and west virginia to republica republicans. most think that will happen tomorrow night f. that happens, anderson, and everything else in the states we know will happen, 45-45. there is your tie, right? ten states left on the board. what matters most? the polls close in kentucky, mitch mcconnell and georgia at 7:00. georgia is a big question mark tonight. democrats say they will make a late rush in kentucky, we'll see. more importantly, 7:30 the polls close in north carolina. kay hagan trying to hold on. the democrat versus republican scott brown. if these states go red, let me take this off, this tells you if jean and kay hagan loses, if we're saying early in the night, those states are going republican, forget about it. that's if not a wave a rug ripple. let's assume the democrats hold the blues, new hampshire, president obama won it twice. north carolina he won it once. iowa and colorado both states were republicans ahead. let's assume the democra
