just hours ago a police chase ended in a crash that knocked down a power pole. ktvu claudine wong has been on this since 4:30. she is live at the scene to tell us about a dangerous situation that pg&e crews are trying to fix. what happened? >> reporter: pg&e crews say when the car crashed it sheered off the bottom of the power pole knocking it down. it was holding up pretty big wires. they just left the scene. they will get a new power pole but they have a lot of work in front of them. take a look at the police car that is closest to us. because that is the closest they will let us stand at this point. the officer said that's where they established was the safe area. after that you've got power lines in the road and they don't want anyone going past there. if you take a lockfaster that is where the crash happened. the vehicle involved is still there. there are pg&e crews up there. but again they just left to get the power pole which is in concord and then they have to come back. the work and a lot of it will get under way. this all started at 2:30 this morning.
