kris sanchez is on the scene. kris, what are you seeing?it's ten acres for sure but now it's completely out. the firefighters made very fast work of this one. it was a bit of surprise to us as we got here. let me show you what's happening. you can see some of the fire crews there behind us there. they are still mopping up and doing some containment work but the fire is out. the fire was on both sides of the road, socal fire and san jose fire worked to the to put it out. but you can see why this was such a concern. the fire was raging for a moment there. and there were -- it was very visible because it was on the hillside. it was running up one side of sierra road and then down sierra road and toward allen rock park. that would have been very dangerous because that is a more populated area. the concern here is at night there is no air support so all the water for the firefight had to be trucked in. the water tinders came in and brought in that water and that's how firefighters were able to make quick work of that. and because the wind condit

good morning to you, sam and kris.ve officers killed in that sniper attack last night in downtown dallas. four were members of the dallas police department. if fifth a member of the dallas area rapid transit. the police chief and mayor tell us the seven officers injured, most have been released from the hospital. the police did corner a suspect overnight in a parking garage in the downtown area. they negotiate with him for several hours. talks did breakdown. officers thought their only option in order to protect themselves was to deploy a bomb squad robot with a bomb attached to its arm. the explosion killed that suspect. before he died he said he was acting alone, was not affiliated with any groups, was upset the black lives matter, wanted to kill white people, especially white police officers. >> there are no words to describe the atrocity that occurred to our city. all i know is that this -- this must stop. this divisiveness between our police and our citizens. >> police took three hour suspects into custody includi

kris, good morning >> it did start at another city. it was in the parking lot of a toys "r" us in hayward. that's where the chase started this morning with an armed robbery. we see skid marks on to east 14th street and then there was a crash into this pedestrian guardrail where the suspects took it out as they crashed and injured themselves. hayward police told news the last hour this all happened around 1:30 this morning when the suspects allegedly held a woman up at gunpoint in that parking lot of the toys "r" us store and then stole her car. police say the suspects allegedly car jacked her, took off, officers started pursuing the vehicle. the driver went from hayward through san lorenzo into san leandro and police approached with guns drawn because they weren't sure where wl the three suspects were armed with the weapons that they used the alleged armed robbery. when the car crash into the pedestrian guard tail and the curb here, the suspects were injured. they were taken away in ambulanc ambulances. the windshield of the car was sm

, kris. >> reporter: it's not a fire that is going to be put out quickly. it's erratic, it has extreme fire behavior, the temperatures are high, as kari has been talking about, now we have local crews heading to help in the fire fight. we can tell you that san mateo county did send fire equipment and personnel. redwood city fire sent firefighters and personnel. they'll be working hard trying to protect more than 1600 structures that are still at risk right now. as you mentioned, six homes are already gone. as you mentioned, 11,000 acres are burned. the fire is only 5% contained. on saturday afternoon, evacuation orders were issued south of carmel for folks that live there. they're not supposed to be out of their homes. several neighborhoods are being told to be ready to go at a moment's notice. red cross is helping with shelter. the crews left san mateo county and redwood are among the firefighters on the front lines. there are nearly 1400. this is not the only fire burning in the state. cal fire reported it is extreme fire behavior making lots of runs. as
