. >> kris sanchez live with the action they are planning on taking today. good morning, kris. >> reporter: at least one supervisor is telling us this is an intention to boost voter turnout. we don't know exactly how that fits into the plan but we suspect it has something to do with fighting a census question about immigration orn the 2020 census coming up in a few years. supervisor cindy chavez says and deputy county executive will unveil the full plan here at the county building at 9:00 ahead of the 10:00 supervisors meeting. i was digging through the agenda, can't find the item they were talking about but here's the back story. the justice department wants to include that citizenship question to enforce minority protections under the voting rights act. now, the 1950 census was the last one that had that citizenship question already california attorney general sued the federal government saying that california could be under counted which could shift federal funding and congressional seats out of the golden state. also the census bureau is already looking
