kris sanchez is live with the latest. kris? >> reporter: good morning to you both. to you listen to how quiet it is out here. a lot of protesters have shown up. i would say hundreds of them at this point. it is a very quiet protest. and on the other side of the crime scene tape you'll see that the officers who were lining the perimeter have been replaced by people who deputies who are now in riot gear. we did hear a deputy say earlier they were going to use the bear cat to try to clear the road on magnolia street and that is the situation. one gentleman is continuing to talk, the one who was shouting at the deputies down the street earlier this morning. but again, a very quiet protest so far this morning. they are cheering now. but a lot of it has been very quiet. the deputies are still here. we did see some of them going into the home on magnolia street with a giant piece of of plywood. we expect that had be used to barricade the door on the other side of the house. they did have to break in the door in order to gain access. and you see them now taking in more plyw

let's get to kris sanchez live out there at the scene. kris? >> reporter: thank you. just talking with a chp officer. they say there is going to be one lane of traffic that is open. but the coroner is here and is taking away the victim who died. the victim who died is a woman who was, in fact, the wrong-way driver. she was in a honda accord. the driver in the other car, the driver that she struck was in a toyota avalon. that man was extricated and was transported to the hospital. we don't know his condition but usually when somebody has to be extricated from a car, it is a pretty serious situation. that beeping that you might hear, that is the tow truck here to take away the wreckage of the wrong-way car and you could see it right there. it is about to be loaded up and taken away. so for the time being, one lane of traffic northbound on highway 17 is open. the rest of the lanes are still closed. we have heard reports of drivers going through the -- where they are not supposed to. be aware if you do that you put yourself in danger and law enforcement in danger and beca

kris sanchez is live in mountain view with with a look at what is next. kris? >> reporter: hi there, marcus. so the city council made its intention known banning rv parking on city streets but then the citizens said they wanted to do things differently. the ban was set to go into effect this summer but a measure to block that ban did qualify for the november ballot. last night the council had to choose between letting the ballot issue move forward to november or rescinding the law to avoid it. the rv communities threaten safety but others say it is council members who should be afraid come election day. >> we get complaints that they're apropaned at night to be let into the laundry room and bathroom and shower and if they refuse people are often aggressive and hostile so the residents are afraid. >> to the council members who voted for that disaster, up for reelection in november, you will be defeated. it is very clear. repeal this measurement do not waste the $90,000 to put it on the november ballot. >> reporter: now outside of mountain view other communities

kris sanchez is live to give us an update since we last spoke with you, kris? >> reporter: the voices in the distance are supporters who are shouting out messages to the alameda county sheriffs deputies have who gone inside of the house. they are up there on the porch. they had to bust in the door because after announcing they were here to serve the eviction the women did not come to the door as requested by law enforcement. so now we know there are several officers who are inside of the house. we don't know what is happening. we can't have -- we don't have a clear view to see inside of the house. the protesters who had been ringing the house lined up and some of them linked in arms willing to rick their own arrest and have moved out of the perimeter and on this side of the caution tape where we are as well. but we do know there is a heavy police presence, the sheriff's deputy presence here on magnolia street and to the end of the block. in san jose, kris sanchez, "today in the bay." >>> and as laura talk about how concerning that is. you're not familiar with the area or even if you are, i wan to show you, this is where kris is reporting near the shopping area here at coleman and down 8 0i and down toward 17 where the crash happened in campbell at hamilton. that is a huge stretch of roadway. almost five miles. when you drive today time out how far and how long it takes to drive five miles and that is how far the person was driving the wrong direction on the freeway. all lanes are clear and everything cleared up about half an hour after that and no more slowing for the south bay. and now the commute is lighter approaching the holiday weekend but we do have three areas slowing at the 880 at alvarado niles and north at 23rd, lanes blocked because of incidents there and west across the san mateo bridge and as i get out of the way, you see the stop stream of taillights and mid span i've seen two stretch of lights, tow trucks possibly. we'll tracking this. back over to you. >>> want to check the forecast with meteorologi
