thank you for joining us here on kron. 4 news 11. i'm noelle bellow, the san francisco city attorney is cracking down on retailers who sell license plate covers. he says the plate covers are helping criminals hide their information from police. today. attorney david chiu sent cease-and-desist letters to major online vendors like amazon and e-bay kron four's. dan thorn is in studio with more on this crackdown dam. >> noel, from sideshows to retail thefts, cars are being used a lot in crimes across the bay area and one way to identify suspects is by getting a license plate number. but the city attorney says illegal license plate covers that can be easily bought online are being used to hide their identities and he wants the sales of these products to stop. i can just hit the button quick, easy and illegal. san francisco city attorney david chiu. >> cracking down on electronic license plate covers, sold online. we want to shut down the online marketplace where we know the vast majority of these products are being sold and obtained 2 and
