ktvu's paul chambers is live near the scene where police brocked off an area. paul, what have you learned? >> reporter: the chief wrapped up a press conference. there is an active scene out here assertions try to -- as officers try to figure out what happened. this vehicle is the person who was involved in the shooting. started at 10:17 at the chocolate factory inside peer 17. a stabbing happened right there. the person left that place, the suspect left that place, walked up washington and when he got to the intersection, he came across one officer. he ignored the officer and came across the second officer and he rushed the officer. a witness, this is what he had to say. >> he looked angry, like he was upset. he was acting strangely. he said something to him, to the suspect, he kept walking. when he walked to the female officer and she said something and he rushed her. >> reporter: once again it started at peer 17. the shooting happened that intersection of washington. that is when a second officer engaged the suspect. the suspect was taken to the hospital. he

we are live in san francisco, cara liu, ktvu channel 2 news. >> thank you. pg&e crews are working to fix a gas leak in san mutarot. -- san mateo. pg&e says a third party construction crew cut through the line. there is no word on when the work might be finished. >>> police are looking for a hit-and-run driver who claimed the life of a bicyclist around 9:30 p.m. last night in east oakland. police say the driver hit the bicyclist who was then dragged more than 100 feet. >> there is no way that the person who hit the bicyclist did not know they hit somebody. it was a hit and run. they left the scene. >> reporter: police are calling on witnesses to come forward with information about the case. they say the victim was an african american man in his 40s. no word on his identity. officers are looking for a late model vehicle, possibly silver sedan. >>> oakland police are turning their attention to trouble on the water front. officers focused on sunken boats. coming up, you will hear from a man who has role in this issue and how they are connected to copper thefts.

ktvu's jeanne dela vegga joins us with new information. good afternoon. >> reporter: good afternoon. in the last couple of minutes, the coroner removed both bodies out of this house that you see in the 300 block of north seventh street. it was very emotional out here. the family had arrived a short time ago to find out that one of their loved ones was dead. the family is in shock. a man and a woman we're told lived here together. it's unclear if they were married but we are told by neighbors that they were a couple. we're told that they have three children and that all of those children are now at the police department. now, police say the gun shots were fired at 4:20 this morning and when they arrived, they found two bodies inside. police spent the morning searching the area for the shooter but they turned up empty handed. it's unclear if there was forced entry into the home or if the victims knew the shooter. neighbors are reeling over the death of their neighbors. this woman we spoke to said she's too scared to show her face on camera.
