and originally both lanes were closed. the southbound and the northbound lanes. they had just opened up the southbound lane. investigators were still working on the vehicles so the northbound lanes were closed. you'll know this was in the northbound lane about a mile shy of where benfield boulevard is. southbound traffic was moving fine and both vehicles were on the scene. and it looked like both of them had a direct head-on collision on the driver's side. one person was flown to shock traffic maw and they were not this. unfortunately the other person the body was still on the scene and ownership not sure if they were ejected from the vehicle or pulled out by fire and emergency personnel but certainly a tragic accident. we've seen that before on route 301 and route 50 we had that some time ago and we're not sure why this happened but originally police are telling us that both vehicles were in the northbound lane one of them traveling the wrong way. and ended up with a tragic accident. >> reporter: i took a look at the video there. those cars were pretty banged up
