good morning, laura. the goal for the second harvest food bank for the number of frozen turkeys they wanted to collect is 11,500. doesn't sound like a lot. apparently it is because they're still short of that goal by a thousand. now, the situation is much better than last week when the second harvest food bank had less than 8,000 turkeys donated, now they're just over 10,500, but still shy of the goal of 11,500. second harvest serves about a quarter million people in both santa clara county and san mateo county. that's almost 50% more people than it did four years ago before the economy tanked. and what's frightening is that this food used to just supplement the meals of those in need. it used to be something in addition to. now it's all they've got. it's their primary source. you can still help out by dropping off frozen birds to the second harvest collection centers. they have this one here in san jose. they've got another one up the peninsula in san carlos. of course, cash is king. that also goes a lon
