explain. >> thank you, laura. two weeks ago, there was an unprecedented rate on the president's home, the former president's home. one of the things that they asked for is the appointment of a special masters of outback that normally what happens after an execution of a search warrant like this, the department of justice assigns a separate team of prosecutors to look over those materials to suss out anything that's privileged or otherwise should not be seen by the main prosecutor. in the time that it's taken to get to this point, it may already be the case with that that you doj has already done that. if you trust them, the doj prosecutors assigned on either side to do the right thing then no problem but if you don't trust them than the sort of appointment of a special master is an independent lawyer, former judge or what have you, to oversee the process independently, that should already have been done. i hope it isn't too late for that particular motion. some of the things that need to be considered are, is this

laura: how is mr.mp responding to this request for the search warrant on his home and other supporting documents to be made public? john: a lot of observers have already suggested that it would be within the former president's gift to make it public anyway, and of course, if, as we have seen, mr. trump is making the case this was an illegitimate fishing expedition based on a pretext without legal basis, he could put that search warrant into the public domain. there have been a few comments on social media. he suggested the fbi went through some of the former first lady's belongings, her clothes, but he has not addressed to issue directly. this is the department of justice laying down the gauntlet. it now puts the ball firmly in donald trump's court. he either has to decide to release it himself or fight the doj's efforts to release it on his behalf, making it look like he has something to hide. laura: john sudworth outside the u.s. department of justice. for more on the legal aspect of what the attorne

laura: u.s.ean officials in vienna say they have agreed to a final text for restoring the nuclear deal with iran, making it harder for to run to build a nuclear bomb. president trump took the u.s. out of the deal in 2018 and imposed harsh sanctions on iran. in response, iran began to breach the agreement. now iran must decide whether to sign the new deal. for more, we are joined by a diplomat who worked at the u.s. state department. what do you think the odds are on iran accepting this text? >> i'm afraid i would not bet that they would be accepting at. iran has had many months to accept a deal that has been on the table. the eu has refined it, improved it. the other parties have agreed, but i ran not sure they want to do it yet. they have not made the decision to return to the deal. laa: so what happens to the deal? does it lapse and iran makes progress toward developing a nuclear bomb? >> the problem is there is no other alternative to diplomacy, noood alternative. although the eu said this is

laura: mr.'s lawyers did not object to the unsealing of this search warrant. they could have done it themselves in the days after the search of his estate on monday. what is mr. trump saying now that this trump -- that this search warrant has been made public? >> he is denying any wrongdoing, as you can imagine. we only found out about this fbi search because of donald trump releasing quite a lengthy statement where he used language like raided, and that his home was under siege by a large group of fbi agents looking for something. he did not go into detail about what they were searcng for. it was actually his son talking to fox news news that detailed they were searching for documents in relation to an investigation started by the national archive and asking the justice department to investige the potential removal of documents from the white house upon donald trump leaving. we also know that at least two of donald trump's legal team were present when the fbi was searching the property. as of n

laura: mr.'s legal team is in the spotlight because the court filing is claiming that they may have concealed and removed these government documents and not been entirely truthful about what they were doing, and that they potentially may have obstructed the investigation. >> if we go back a little bit in the timeline of this, let's not forget this has been rumbling on quietly in the background and not many know much about it since donald trump left office in january 2021. in may this year, he was issued with a subpoena asking for the return of all documents. according to that subpoena signed by someone on his team -- not revealed who yet -- that subpoena suggested that yes, everything has been returned, and anything with any classification marking has been returned to the national records administration. the government filg yesterday suggesting that that is not true, that likely as they put it it was concealed or removed and wasn't in the storage place, that the person who signed the subpoenas a
