abc 7 news reporter lillian kim has the heart felt thanks from the boy's mother. >> ama, a 911 dispatcher and four san jose firefighters were honored today for saving a 4-year-old boy earlier this year. today, alex met the 911 dispatcher and the fire crew from truck 35 who saved his life. the young boy fell into cardiac arrest while he and his family were at a park back in february. his mother mary called 911 and that dispatcher calmly told her what to do. she gave him step by step cpr instructions. mom then performed chest compressions until firefighters arrived. they took over from there and now four months later, the boy, his mom and the rest of the family came to the fire house to save thank you. >> because of her actions, our sun was able to survive the traumatic event. the firefighters showed much care and compassion towards our sun and our family and we'll never forget it. >> when i got off the phone, i had to excuse myself from the room. in 17 years, i haven't done cpr on a small child, so i had to excuse myself from the room and, you know, his outcome, it's the call of a career.
