joining me now is retired actress lisa jacob. lisa so kind for you to be with us this morning to share some of your reflections of this man we all loved. you penned a thank you note to robin williams for a lot of the experience. you were 14 at the time and you were given a really hard option because your school said you can't do this movie and if you do, we're going to kick you out. what did you do and what happened? >> well, i did the movie. it sort of evolved with my school over time. it was a lot of pressure to put on them to have them come up with six months worth of work for me do ahead of time. that didn't work for them, and so i was not allowed to come back to school, and so i did the movie. i was very dis -- distraught at being out of school at 14. robin was a kind and generous soul. >> he stepped in, wrote a letter to your principal. wrote how valuable this experience was. it shouldn't be mutually exclusive going for a dream like this and coming back to pursue your education. what happened? >> unfortunately, it didn't wo
