lisa. you say this bipartisan deal is a bad deal for taxpayers. why? >> it continues to kick the can down the road in the sense that it does nothing to address our national debt and growing deficit. the big problem here is it blows through the spend be caps that were put in place by the budget control act not too long ago that has been able to get a firmer hand on our increasing deficits and has been able to cut spending. that's a big problem. and also pushes our national debt closer to $20 trillion. which is also a problem. look, the biggest problem with this too, is that the deal was done behind closed doors, which is why so many americans across the country hate congress, because of these kinds of tactics. it uses budgetary gimmicks to give the idea that there is an offset in spending that's happening here. this is a big problem. the higher the national debt grows, it means slower economic growth for so many americans across the country who are already struggling in the economy. >> jonas, you say this is a bad deal but not as bad as it might be. >>

lisa stark is with us. lisa, the white house seems to be going out of its way to reassure the public that much of the terror targets are much more hardened than they would be overseas. >> i think they are trying to tell people that they have not picked up any intelligence that would alarm them of any sort of paris-style attack. clearly targets such as airports, targets like that have been hardened significantly since 9/11. but there do remain soft targets. you can't patrol every bit of real estate where people con gri gait. over the holiday tens of millions of americans will be traveling by plane and train, so it is a heighten sense of security. we heard from metro here in washington, d.c. they are putting out extra patrols. and there will be extra bag checks. so people should expect an extra presence. they will notice extra security around places where we could see, could be a target, but, again, the u.s. government is telling us that there is no specific intelligence. there is not specific intelligence, i

lisa chan is at city hall with some of the results. good morning. >> reporter: yesterday voters rejected prop f a victory for "airbnb." this would have eliminated the number of short-term rentals to 75 days a year and would require the hosts to live there. neighbors would also have to be notified when a new "airbnb" opened and hosts who break the rules could have faced lawsuits from neighbors and get banned from using the "airbnb" website. over the 55-45 vote prop f did not pass. assemblyman david chu is against the measure and believes the current short term rental law is enough. >> we need time to allow this to go into effect. the measure that was in front of voters today prop f was too extreme. >> reporter: another big race is for a seat on the san francisco board of supervisors. aaron peskin won 54-43. he beat incumbent julie christiansen and is a san francisco progressive. >> we have run a great grassroots campaign. we started 7 months ago. it's really been a labor of love. >> reporter: now, peskin's win tipped the balance of powe
