liz: yeah.revenues are up and, in fact, if you look at march specifically, here are the numbers, and i want our viewers to really listen here. the government posted $199 3 billion -- 193 billion budget deficit for the month of march, but that's less than a third of the $660 billion gap a year earlier. do you predict the trend continuing over the course of the second half of the year if people are you know, finally getting on the ball and paying their taxes? >> well, it's interesting, there's two -- you know, the extensions that were filed as of last friday are up 229% over last year. liz: okay. >> so even though they're filing their extension, they're supposed to be paying their estimated tax due at the time they file the extension, but in many cases hay don't. and what you'll see is a much larger revenue happening in the second half of the year this year because of those edges the tensions being file -- extensions being file. liz: let's talk about the backlog at the irs. i paid my taxes last ye

liz? liz: yeah and we do have a piece of this story today, causing the pullback in oil and that's the international energy agency announcing that it's going to release about 120 million-barrels of oil. this of course is a big group of countries including the u.s. which i believe is in about 60 million-barrels here so more supply comes online. sure enough we have the price come down but hillary check out this 10 year chart of exxon-mobile. i think it's really important to make this point. folks, during around 2020, you see a huge drop there in oil. these companies have to roll with the punches so they deal with both booms and certainly busts, right? so right now there's a boom in prices for excolonoscopy en us events and reasons but they also have to shoulder the tough times too so i'm not sure that the blame is really adequately placed. reporter: liz i think that's a great point and we did hear the companies talked to a little bit about that but one of the biggest criticisms coming from de

liz: yeah. well, we do want to point out to our viewers that crude oil is falling in the aftermarket another 1%, and we've got brent down about a third of a percent. arbob gasoline pretty much flat. mark, when i look at what's going on back here stateside, we, of course, have to indeed focus on what the federal reserve is doing and what the federal reserve members are saying. you know, weeks and weeks ago before the turn of the year many were very delicate and said, sure, we've got to be data-dependent and, yes, we'll take it slowly, a quarter point here, a quarter point hike there bringing us up off emergency levels. well, in the past two weeks we've had the st. louis if fed if president, cleveland, we pay need to institute 50 basis point hikes, maybe in both june and july. what kind of risk is that a going to add to the market and investor participation here? >> well, i think that, you know, they're being very conservative. i think you're going to see much, much higher rates. just don't forget

>> liz, we are. we also think that the bias is probably a little bit lower than higher, it's called the next couple of months, and the reasons for that, tom does very thoughtful research, certainly to think he's nailed it. other considerations be just the considerations on higher borrowing costs, so we do think that each of those segments, energy is about supply, there is just not been enough investment to define new oil. clearly, the human tragedy in russia and ukraine has exacerbated that fact, but that's something we still think has some upside. we also think utilities, regulated businesses that are still churning out some pretty interesting non-economically sensitive cash flows and finally , infrastructure. as we start to see some reopening activity, which we're seeing, the infrastructure has those sorts of investing options will do well so we'll stick with those for now, it's still too early to get involved in tech. liz: tom, i think eric is right, when it comes to looking at what definitely loo

liz: back to breaking news in sacramento.ing a shooting that left at least six people dead and 10 others injured early this morning. it happened at two :00 a.m. as nightclubs were closing in downtown sacramento, two blocks from the state capital. the warriors are scheduled to play at the golden one center tonight. no word if there will be changes. other videos are circulating on social media. people are running through the street as gunfire is heard. you can see large crowds of people. there is a large police presence showing that. the chief of police spoke to the media. it >> we had officers in the area that heard shots fired. they found a very large crowd. they also found we have a number of people that were shot in the area. those officers rendered aid to our victims. they called for additional assistance as well as medical responders. the scene behind me is where this happened. we do not have a suspect in custody. where asking for help. this is an unfortunate situation. liz: another mass shooting, this one in downtown sac
