strength following a developing story tonight, investigator digging up a parking lot of a business in los gatos. it's part of an investigation into a criminal case. we have an update. >> reporter: san jose police said this is a follow-up investigation to an unsolved homicide that happened decades ago. it is maybe a cold case that dates back to the early 1980s. they have moved us out of the area and you can see the vehicles here behind the crime scene tape. the building on the right as the theater. this is blocking our view of the other site where this is happening. you see the video. we saw san jose police at the top of the vehicle removing what look like crowbars and other equipment from the truck. this is happening in the parking lot behind the site for sore eyes store in north santa cruz avenue and downtown los gatos. they started digging up the parking lot yesterday. we have seen people come by the site who live nearby. they have come here to look at the scene and think about what this case may involve. longtime residents of the shopping center has been here for more than 40 years and they
