those acts were dubbed as lynching. britons like the term in the newspapers until it started to being associated with racist terrorism. then they started to say that is something the americans do. the britons wanted to feel better about their own imperial endeavors and their colonization of nonwhite peoples around the world. so, they drew lines there around that term. that is what americans do, we don't do that. so, the popularity of the term limits and any kind of use for britons after the 1890s. so, it is, there are whole fields of scholarship about mob violence in countries around the world. a move has happened over the past 10 years or so where people have started thinking about lynching in a global context instead of just in an american one. and, there was a lot of evidence for mob violence being a tool that was used in communities around the world. but, the tag of lynching was something that americans held onto and claimed for themselves. >> other questions? do i see any hands? there is one right behind you. >> hi
