the private women's colleges located a few miles north of lynchburg, va. suzanne kennedy has some reaction. >> there is no easy way to share this with you. suzanne: the announcement came on a website, and through e-mail . after more than a century, the rural all women school will close because of insurmountable financial challenges. >> i love the campus. suzanne: she was in the class of 1990. she says the news is heartbreaking. >> i'm not sure it needs to happen. that is i think the biggest question that has not been answered yet. suzanne: the school outside of lynchburg still has a 94 million dollar endowment, but declining enrollment is forcing the all women's college to take drastic steps. this woman credits the school for helping her find confidence as a young woman. >> i think that sweet briar elevated my sense of self and my ability to accomplish bigger things than i had originally anticipated. suzanne: this year's seniors will graduate, but other young women are being forced to go to other schools. >> we had plans, classes we were going to take. we

just about that time, a fourth train comes in, pushing more supplies from lynchburg. this is actually pushing it, the trains into the station. when it's either federal cavalry there, they throw the engine into reverse and it breaks the couplings, so it leaves the cars and the supplies, but the engine makes it back to lynchburg and escapes. this is a very unusual battle. it is confederate artillery against federal mounted cavalry. i tried to find another battle like this in the civil war, and you can't do it. there is not a battle like this anywhere else in the american civil war. mounted calvary attacking unsupported artillery. so the battle starts off at about 4:00 here at and what happens is custer cents april grade -- sends a brigade forward. but it is not a good area for fighting a battle. it is mainly shrubbery and dense forest. some trails leading through the woods. so it is very difficult for the federal cavalry to mount an attack. the confederate side is hampered because this is really unexpected. they had no idea federal cavalry were going to set upon them. t

he will be out lynchburg at liberty university. that is where he's expected to make the big announcement in in person. he did release a 30 second video overnight and also posted awitter saying i'm running for president and i hope to earn your support. liberty university is a particular choice for cruz because this is where he can find his conservative core base. this is the evangelical christian school that was founded by jerry fallwellfalwell. so instead of going to his home state, he's going to where he knows he will have a lot of support. just this month a poll found there are several republican primary voters who say they will support ted cruz if he's on the ballot. when asked if they could see thems as supporters 40% said yes. but that only puts him eighth on the list. so cruz does have a lot of flound ground to cover. likely why he decided to get in early. >>> and lawmakers are demanding secret service director joseph clancy let them hear directly from the agents tied to a recent scandal. a house committee looking in to repor
