. >> and i'm marcus washington. first we want to get to that deadly big rig accident involving a fedex truck on 880. screen nay, a really tough scene this morning. >> a deadly crash involving -- you can see this right here, this is the scene moments ago, we got this video in of that deadly crash involving a fedex big rig and what appears to be another vehicle. right now all lanes of the southbound 880 area are completely blocked off right at the coliseum. so at this point we've seen that traffic backed up all the way to fruitva fruitvale. if you have plans to hop on to southbound go around. they don't have an estimated time of when these lanes are expected to open and unfortunately when they are dealing with a deadly crash that's possibly going to take quite a while. you definitely want to try to avoid the area. we're already seeing heavy delays all the way back through fruitvale, so make sure to get off before you hit fruitvale avenue, take the surface streets and hop back on after coliseum. we can expect to see a

good morning, i'm laura garcia. >> i'm scott mcgrew in for marcus washington. let's get a check of the weekend weather with kari. good morning. >> it looks really good. it starts out cool this morning. we are going to have much warmer temperatures. a place we should be this time of year, normally in december, we are in the upper 50s. take a look at all these numbers in the upper 60s and low 70s for today. santa cruz, 72 degrees. make it a beach weekend. we are going to have more dry weather and, as we go into the weekend in san francisco, some 60s. still some cool mornings in the forecast. still the valleys dropping to the upper 30s. as we go into next week, there's no rain in the forecast. we'll talk about that and focus just on the weekend coming up in seven minutes. mike is talking about the east bay, seeing activity. >> a lot of activity. first of all, the metering lights turned on. there's the back up. look at the maps and see right there, looking here, a smooth drive. there may be a new crash at san pablo. chp is heading out there to check it out. we have

thanks for joining us, i'm laura garcia. >> i'm marcus washington. we have been talking about the cold weather. kari hall has tracking it all. old man winter not sparing us this morning. >> no. not even in san jose. with the cold temperatures, it's illegal to burn wood today. it's a spare the air day. air quality will be unhealthy. moderate for the east bay peninsula and the south bay. it may get worse as the weekend goes along with the things we are putting out there and the atmosphere gets trapped in the lower levels. as we go through the next couple hours, still have this freeze warning in effect for the areas shaded in purple and along the immediate coastline, frost advisories in effect. there could be patchy road ice. you have to watch out for that and slow your speed. dress in layers heading out the door, wear a hat. bring those pets inside. i have been watching my tomato plants and hoping they survive. those are some of the things we have to watch as we go into next couple hours. the coldest time will be the next couple hours. i'll keep an eye

. >> i'm marcus washington for you. as we start off on this breezy morning, we'll get to that in a moment. welcome back, kari. right now, we want to go to mike inouye with the bay bridge. >> over the weekend, the majority of lanes were closed. the good news, most of the bay looks fine. that's good for the san mateo bridge, which we expected to see more trarveg. the arrows show everybody feeding to the bay bridge. that's why we have the focus there. look at that. the east shore freeway and west 580 seeing that back up is typical about this time of day. that's great news. we'll show you the live look from the toll plaza. we see the fast track lanes are moving well. so are some of the cash lanes on the left approach. the right approach is where one lane is closed because of a deadly crash that happened over the weekend. we are still following that. it shows extra back up for these folks coming off the 880. now, we know only one lane is closed. we knew the moment it happened because pete suratos is out there covering the st

. >> i'm marcus washington. as we start our morning, it is going to have to be force to keep you warm. >> it's really cold again. i guess we are getting used to it. we have such warm afternoons and cold starts. all dry conditions. as you get ready to head out this morning, mostly clear skies. we'll see clouds moving in as we go throughout the day. the high temperatures are nice. up to 70 degrees in the east. danville, livermore, oakland, 65 and 68 in redwood city. san francisco, 67 in the mission district and 67 today in navato. we'll talk about high winds this weekend that may increase the fire danger coming up and as we head over to vianey, friday light, right? >> i don't have delays or accidents to report. an accident in fremont has been cleared. i want to get you to this 880. the southbound side, looking fairly slow. it looks like an accident popped up. i'll let you know where that is in a bit. mass transit, 47 trains running for bart. no other delays, however the ferry, they have mechanical issues. ferries

i'm marcus washington. >> welcome to december. i'm laura garcia. winter-like temperatures, the cool ones continue. vianey arana is in for kari hall, again. >> cool for california. we are only expected to get slightly colder into next week. right now, not much has changed in the past week. waking up to 30s and 40s in the south bay, 44 degrees. 43 degrees for the peninsula. check out the tri-valley. we are talking upper 30s. to the north bay, expect 36 degrees as you make your way outside. as you head out the door, you want to pack warmly and a light sweater. judging by the temperature trend, especially in san francisco, one thing that is going to be noticeable is we are going get more cloud cover into today. then we'll start seeing an increase into the 50s. we are going to top out in the upper 50s and lower 60s. we are going start seeing areas of patchy fog. all in all, it will shape out to be a mild afternoon. as we head into saturday, we have breezy conditions kicking in. before we get to that, i want to check in with mike. there are changes. >>

i'm marcus washington. >> and i'm kris sanchez in for laura garcia today. new at 11:00, several suspects arrested near travis air force base after an investigation related to stolen lottery tickets. those tickets taken from south bay liquor stores. bob redell is live near the air force base with what we know. bob? >> reporter: good morning to you, kris. we spoke with travis air force base, fairfield police and santa clara police to figure out what happened and to figure out why this police pursuit ended up here at travis air force base. as it turnedous, it appears the suspects in this police chase got lost and just happened to dead-end into a u.s. military facility. an airman tells me they spread through security here at travis, a chase start on stand by 24/7 started to go after them on base. they were stopped and all five adult men taken into custody. this started this morning in fairfield. santa clara police have been surveilling a man here wanted to a number of burglaries in their jurisdiction and other parts of santa clara county. a lieutenant tells us
