fox5's marina maracco is there with the story tonight. >>reporter: there is no question here that things were far smoother at dulles airport compared to january when that first travel ban went into effect. today's travel ban went into effect roughly three hours ago and that was 8:00 tonight and it was received here virt virtually by no protestors. that was the scene back in january across the country when the first travel ban went into effect. this now banes more a tightening of already tough visa policies that affect citizens from six muslim majority countr ies those situate syria, sudan, libya, in if travelers already have visas, they'll be allow in the united states. the ones who need new visas they will have to prove an existing relationship like a school or a business here in the us. today a much different picture than back in january. it was business as usual here at dulles international. one man we spoke with says he is a us citizen but travels frequently from the you s and sudan. since the travel ban he's had issues coming back in

fox5's marina maracco is live in northwest with the very latest tonight. marina. >>reporter: and for the first time since saturday, residents were able to get their first look inside their apartment units because all since saturday this has been under the control of the city here. you see the chain link fence that separates the street here from the building to protect it from anyone who wants to get inside. you have special police coming up this alley. they've been making rounds here all week long . one neighbor we spoke he shared this cellphone video. he says the fire started in the unit on the front side of the building and then it spread towards the back of the building where his family lives. here's a first look inside. this man's unit damaged mainly by smoke and water and residents say they gathered around two this afternoon. they proved their rest dins and they to their units by building management. they were told they had ten minutes to grab whatever was salvageable, especially small but important items such as important documents as well as passports. they

fox5's marina maracco went to get a look at the damage and joins us now. here on the ground it's all consistent with tornado watch naddic activity. you see of the way of debris and damage you'll see just how bad the damage is here in four corners. you'll see all the caved in roof . this is one of two homes condemned here tonight. the side wall there appears to be off its foundation and two of the family members inside that home at the time of the tornado were actually transported to an area hospital they were so shaken up following everything that happened here this afternoon. you'll see out here crews still working to try and remove the debris and try and fix up as best they can this home which for the at least tonight and probably tomorrow will remain vacant without any of the family members being let back in. let's look at some of the video from earlier this afternoon. you'll see a block away, a very similar scene, another house also condemned, the damage pretty severe out there as well. at least a dozen vehicles damagedded in this neighborhood. debris

fox5's local news at much for joining us i'm lauren demarco and i'm marina maracco. we start with a minimum wage o up date. mayor governor larry hogan is calling for state investigation into allegations of fraud and corruption in prince george's county schools. school board members, teachers and other staff have told fox5 that students' grades are being fixed and records manipulated to boost the graduation rate. reporter lindsay watts and john applegate broke this story. here's look at what they have uncovered so far. i think we're doing an unjustice to the student, allowing them to graduate when they know they didn't p put in the effort. the staff knows exactly what's happening. it's widespread. it's not just a handful of teachers. it's what are you going to do to make sure they're going to pass rather than what are you going to do to make sure they learn. some of our colleagues decided to go out so and believe in our students and our staff. we would not make such allegations if there were not significant proof. have you asked for the evidence that they referenced.
