a's manager mark kotsay and rangers manager bruce bochy. kotsay once played for bochy when he managed the padres. a's outfielder lawrence butler also took a moment to thank fans before the first pitch was thrown. all right, let's go ahead and turn now to our anthony flores inside the coliseum. anthony shirley, an emotional day for fans out there today. i'm wondering how are the players doing. well audrey, this is a day that really tugs at your heart. i mean, just look behind me. they don't want to leave the field here at the coliseum. emotions are running high, not only for the fans, but also for the players. you talked about manager mark kotsay before the game. you know, normally he's stoic, but before the game he was walking around shaking hands, taking pictures. i saw several players grabbing the dirt and putting it in plastic bottles so they could save a part of history. so at least one one more day, the players were able to give the fans a reason to cheer. they had a32 victory in their final game at the coliseum. after the game was over

later in this newscast, we'll hear from a's manager mark kotsay about the sadness that he felt at the coliseum this evening. new at 11 tonight, they say it is not a good fit. tonight, there's pushback from a san jose neighborhood where costco wants to build a new store. planning commission is set to certify the environmental impact report tomorrow. now, this is a rendering of that new costco. it is slated for a site on prospect road near the saratoga border. three buildings would be demolished at the existing westgate shopping center to make room for that costco. the group, save west valley, plans to be at tomorrow's meeting to voice their concerns. they say they're worried about increased traffic. they say dangers that it could pose to high school students and other pedestrians in that area. now, costco says it is already agreed to numerous project changes in direct response to the community's concerns. san jose regional medical center one step closer to becoming a part of santa clara county. county is still finalizing the agreement with owner hca healthcare. today, the board of supe
