the maverick surf company and the maverick family llc said they plan to work together after submitting competing event permit applications two months ago. they say they have more work to do. the next commission meeting is scheduled for september 7. the board of the metropolitan transportation commission has voted to reconsider their controversial move from oakland to san francisco. last month they voted to purchase old post office in san francisco and convert it to multi-agency hub to house the mtc and three other regional agencies. but yesterday, critics argue using $180 million in bridge tolls to buy and rehabilitate the 70-year-old building is against the law. oakland city and community leaders also say the san francisco location has poor transit access for an mtc workforce that mostly lives in the east bay. the oakland advocates want mtc to reconsider an alternative site at 1100 broadway. >> let's be clear. this is not primarily about oakland versus san francisco. the oakland finalist site is on bart and more cost effective. >> mtc will consider both sites, a process that could tak
