really represented the last residential space that you could build in that neighborhood and it is called mb 360, 360 because it was supposed to be 360 rental units construction had started awhile back ago. the developer, bre properties paid 41 plus million dollars for that site on two parcels there. we are told by an employee of the developer, bre properties that they were actually 2 or 3 weeks ahead of schedule on this project as they worked to finish it and they hoped to be opening maybe in late may or june to start preleasing at the end of this month so this was a project that was well under way, again 360 units were planned for that building as it covered two major blocks on mission bay. on the ground floor they expected to have 23,000 square feet of retail space, this was a huge investment that this company made in this project, when you do the math, apparently the costs came out to $630,000 per unit that they were going to be renting out here later this year, here in 2014. the development team for this company was over in emoryville when they got word of this fire they began rushing t

it's called the mb 360. this fire quickly grew in size. about 150 firefighters were here battling the flames. one firefighter was burned in the process but that firefighter should be okay. crews were able to keep the fire from burning any of the nearby buildings and this morning, the mayor credited a high pressure water system installed in this mission bay neighborhood. >> but for that that high pressure water system this fire would have been perhaps very hard to contain and that water pressure allowed for so many of the 150 firefighters to have the apparatus, to have a system work in their favor. >> we were very fortunate that it wasn't as windy last night as we're experiencing this morning. that might have made a huge difference. but really it was the aggressive fire attack that we made last night that was able to contain the fire. >> reporter: and firefighters are grateful the winds weren't any stronger yesterday. that would have really made this fire hard to control even this morning strong gusts were making it difficult up on the ladd
