menlo park fire department got a call after 3 a.m. there was water running down the street. crews arrived they realized it was a water main break at the corner of sharon park road and monte rosa drive. there are at least five homes in the direct path of the heavywater flow the priority had been to get the water shut off. -- >> no homes are flooded now just our streets which is why we have traffic shut off there is water shut off to many of the residents in the area. >> reporter: the break in the 16 inch pipe created a mess. at its peak it was running down the street like a little river. there's been a shelter in place order given to the homes in the direct path of the water flow. there is some good news. even though they have not been able to identify the source of the break in the pipe. crews are making progress by shutting off the feeder lines which is why you see slower flow. they expect to have it completely shut off within the next 10 to 15 minutes. most of the water running down sharon park road is feeding directly into sharon park that is out of the direct path of most
