mike inouye, what's happening on the road on this tuesday?> the golden gate bridge across the bay, we don't want to confuse the two. the golden gate bridge coming from the north bay. visibility, okay for drivers but tough seeing the drivers from our camera here. the maps still showed that on an index. we only show the construction going on on northbound 101 and east 80. they are moving a vehicle over towards san francisco. it should be cleared very soon. the fog may be an issue. fog and mist. coming down out of novato. out of napa for highway 12. watch that as will. no problems reported. a similar pattern as yesterday. >>> parking can be a pain. parking at the nation's capital is becoming pretty big business. washington, d.c. pocketed $90 million worth of parking fines last year. aaa says nearly 2 million parking tickets were handed out. one ticket every eight seconds. here is a ticket for you. here is a ticket for you. only 10% of those who receive tickets ask for a court hearing to appeal the fines. they are making some good money there. $9

mike inouye joins us with a look at how today's memorial could be affecting drivers outs there. >> good morning. folks, we were following along with that caravan as it took its way up highway 17. there were no other surprises for the freeways. but in downtown, you see all those law enforcement vehicles and we see all the other spectators in the area. the big tie-up was getting off of highway 87. as thiey queued up, that presens a logjam for about 45 minutes through the area. also local streets closed and vta buses rerouted around the scene. that's affecting most seriously lines of 522 past the hp pavilion. because of that, we did have quite a tie-up this morning. they're getting ready for that service. about 3:00 this evening, they're going to probably get out from that funeral service and start hitting the road as well. now, the same amount of people have to leave the area. but that's going to combine with the people probably leaving from work from the downtown area. but it will expectedly be very logjammed getting back onto highway 87. here's a little perspective -- >> most of the peo

let's check in with mike inouye to find out what it looks like. >> it's a traffic tuesday. that's the heaviest volume usually for the week and so a lot of folks say it feels like at least an hour and a half for them to drive. that's what the stories are to me any way. we're looking to the bay area. one of the major congestion spots. bay bridge toll plaza with cash lanes backing up. no fastrak. we should see metering lights turned on if it goes according to tuesday schedule in about three or four minutes. we see a smooth drive off the east shore freeway under the clouds. east shore freeway and map shows a smooth drive at the limit once you leave richmond. slowing through richmond on the approach toward that racetrack off the richmond bridge. it is slow because of congestion there. 238 top of your screen, slowing off castro valley off 580 and then south 880 toward a street where there is that crash. car went into a wall. sounds like it scraped the wall from the update because there are no major injuries. no injuries reported at all. that is over on your shoulder. a distractio
