curious if we looked at other city to learn from them in terms of what they funded and invested and what worked for them and if we based this off what we have seen this modeled in other cities versus throwing darts on the board for what we think may work? >> that is a fair question. we have looked at other what other cities are doing and did practice research to see what the landscape looks like. we are doing more of that. in fact, i'm planning to meet with new york dot the week after next to try to get in person to understand how they are doing their program. we also based on the current experience with campaigns we are running in san francisco and what our media market looks like. this is a different media market and a little smaller than what they have there in new york, so we have to approach it slightly differently. but we have campaigns wruning now and you see a program that is 4.2 million dollar program that we have size up and part of that is based on compains we are country running. the it stops here in particular is one we looked at to see how much media knee can get and the cost of the creative and research with a grant funded program. there are 2

coalition we made significant gains in reducing bike theft and attracted national attention for the model in our city. i think the program combines focused police work and education and a new registration program to detour theft. one year after launching the program thefts are down 10% in the city but secure bike parking as supervisor avalos knows from legislation he's passed is another critical piece of the puzzle and i think this grant helps fund the installation of a number of electronic bicycle lockerses in tern in public places that people can store multiple bicycles. i think this is one small step. it's needed on a larger scale in the city if we reach the 20% of trips by 2020 and i look forward working with supervisor avalos and many others of you, the mta and community partners like the bicycle coalition and safety awareness for everyone to keep up the progress. >> thank you supervisor mar. colleagues can we take this item same house same call? this ordinance passes unanimously. madam clerk next item please. >> item 10 is a resolution to designate the agencies qualified to participate in the j
