joining us now with the latest is nbc news foreign correspondent molly hunter. y, what more do we know about this massive collision? >> yeah, jose. the pictures are absolutely terrifying. it was as you say a massive collision. you have two trains traveling in opposite directions towards each other on the same track at high speeds. and according to officials, neither driver clearly was aware obviously which resulted in this massive crash. so the numbers as you mentioned are likely to arise as the death toll stands at 36, more than 80 people injured, many of those very seriously, more than 70 are currently in the hospital. and a lot of the people, according to greek authorities, jose, were college aged students after going to a festival. the passenger train crowded with hundreds of people, more than 350 people, was traveling from the capital of athens to the northern city of thesalaniki. more than 150 firefighters on the scene working all night. what we are learning is that one of the cars, one of the carriages on the passenger train got up to 2,372 degrees fahrenh

joining me now, nbc's molly hunter in a london.ally, it's not the word to describe it. what can you tell us about the horrible incidents? >> yeah, disturbing, horrible, criminal. really upsetting news, alex. this is reports that we are getting today of a new wave of these suspicious and suspected poisonings. we have spoken with our translator, 11 different provinces where new reports popped up today. nbc news have not independently verify the individual cases, but the social media videos that we are seeing coming out of iran tonight are extremely distressing. nbc news is working hard to verify video showing, being able to show what is happening to these young school girls. in one video the nbc has, you have a girl describing in the hospital how her body is not how she is unable to walk and other videos. you have a young girl, these are school aged girls, alex, talking about a smell of chemical gas. today, the other thing we are seeing as protests. nbc news is showing video of a small group of women holding up signs in pro tests. yo

molly hunter is joining us we have news on that front as far as what is going on politically in the lastutes? >> reporter: yeah, that 24 hour window you mentioned from the moment the prime minister triggered the constitutional tool that forced through the un popular retirement age, two motions of no confidence have been filed politicians thousand have 48 hours to look these over there could be a vote on sunday or monday. motions of no confidence very rarely succeed in france so there will be a vote. if it does succeed, that puts emmanuel macron in a tight spot. he is already facing a democratic crisis, a trust deficit. he can either dissolve his government and choose a new prime minister and name a new government, or he can call for a general election political watchers say that only one vote of no confidence has ever succeeded since 1958. they think it is unlikely. so what happens if it fails is that the pension bill stands in the last couple weeks president macron and his government have been saying that they would notuse this constitutional tool. they had the votes they said they woul
