part of the north american monsoon. you get this and it triggers up these strong thunderstorms. especially in the afternoon and the evening hours. now in some areas we have been seeing very heavy rainfall but also some hail this is incredible footage in colorado. this is a river running through the middle of this street here. this area, toppled over cars, even some homes were damaged. concrete sidewalks. but look at that right there. that was not snow. hail. accumulating. piling up here. causing that flooding. see that kid out there helping his family trying to wash up the flash flood that came through. now, one of the big things we talk about with this is when you get these heavy showers and thunderstorms and the hail specifically, all that rushes down. so the air under it has to go somewhere, right? and it moves off towards the sky. when that happens, special in dry areas, which in many of these locations you're looking at drought, it kicks up the dust. this is coming out of phoenix because of this dust storm sometimes called haboo. yeah, this is something that you see sometim

that's monsoon all moisture. and high pressure sitting just to the east of us, it will bring in some of that humidity to the bay area. may everyone spark off a few showers and storms for the sierra. unfortunately the rain stays to the east of us, but we'll feel the humidity creeping in later tonight. and this shows the direction of the wind and by the lines here. the green shows where the rain will be. this system the next one moving in by the end of the week. this dries up before it gets here. but maybe just 1/2 enough to gis a slight chance of rain for the north bay. i'll be watching that as we go through the week. once that moves through, our temperatures will drop off so the next couple of days, this is a look at the temperature trend, it will be in the upper 80s. this weekend looks like it will be cooler than average for the entire bay area as we will see highs in the 70s and also some 80s, low are 80s here. we're not talking about the highs in the 90s, even tri-valley will be nice and comfortable. north bay

monsoon clouds came close yesterday but now getting pushed off toward the east. the high and mid level clouds coming up from the hawaiian islands and that system right there that will tap into some of that later on. that moisture lifting northward which gave a lot of rain away is starting to get entrained into that. again it won't be starting tomorrow but more likely heading toward friday and saturday a lot of cloud cover on the way for friday and maybe some rain to the north. it looks like on sunday that system will rotate through. so it's going to take a couple days for that system to get there. in the meantime it's warmer out ahead of it. high pressure in the desert southwest is not really strong, strong for us. but it is nosing northward. as it does that allows temperatures 90s through the interior. 60s and 70s around the bay. inland temps at least this time of year the 90s don't hang around for four or five hours. it's about one or two and then they back off. it does look cloudy with rain to the north early saturday. >> all right. thank you. >> 4:49 is the t
