they have upgraded us here in philadelphia, delaware county, half of chester montgomery and bucks county to a winter storm warning and that is because of higher project snowfall totals, based on what we have gotten so far we will meet the criteria for a warning rather than a winter weather advisory. so we probably will, end up as we have our estimates here close tore 6 inches then closer to 3 inches, in our range of project snow fought totals. still one to three to the north of us and still higher snow fall totals to the south where we have that winter storm warning continuing. and that is in effect since yesterday. ultimate doppler radar is showing that we have a center of our storm in the north carolina where it is a mess with the icy precipitation there. just treacherous conditions, traveling around charlotte and raleigh-durham but as we go north, it has been so cold, we are dealing with snow, only snow steady snowfall throughout the the philadelphia area. that is why we are seeing it pile up a little bit. but as we look out toward lehigh valley pocono mountains and berks county it is

a winter storm warning in effect through philadelphia delaware county and parts of bucks montgomery and chesternty. farther to the northern and west it's an advisory. this may fall off the map a little early depending on how the snow tapers off. for now i would expect until 9 or 10 o'clock to see snow falling in some areas. it will be beyond that by the time the plow trucks can get out there and clean everything up. expect delays during the morning rush. we have had heavy snow overnight especially south and east of philadelphia but in the city it's fairly decent. several inches on the ground and a lot of snow covered roads yet. 14 degrees, too, so you have to bundle up. 10 right now in allentown, 13 in millville and there's a bit of a wind blowing not real strong but enough to give you a wind chill, 5 degrees that's what it feels like so, yeah, lots of layers. a tricky tuesday getting to school. a lot of schools going in but late which is probably not a bad idea considering we're still looking at snow for a bit. today's high later on will be 30 and we'll probably get some sun back in play. all

parts of bucks county montgomery county, northern montgomery county, upper bucks, parts of the lehigh valley berks county into chester county. we have an advisory where you see the purple along the i-95 corridor we're looking at lower bucks county southern montgomery county, parts of new jersey delaware where we have a winter weather advisory posted. here is a broad view of the storm that will affect us later on today. we'll see the clouds first. the clouds build in right now. we see the snow developing later on today, probably around lunch time to the north and west. it will scoot to the east as we head throughout the afternoon hours. the future weather as we go through timing here the weekend is important and that's why we wish that first alert weather day. by lunch time snow to the north and west. we're looking at clouds all across the area and this will slowly work its way in. by 5:00 we're looking at snow for pretty much everyone. it could be heavy at times as we head throughout the afternoon hours. then something interesting starts happening. warmer air works into this system. see the changeover in philadelphia

for chester montgomery, bucks and areas north and west through the poconos because as early as tomorrow morning there could be freezing rain and some mixed precipitation north and west. here's what's going on. stormtracker 6 double scan radar 3d showing you there's a frontal boundary draped to the region most of the weekend. as we get to overnight hours into monday this boundary dips south. it funnels down the colder area north and west of philadelphia there's a chance of finding that precipitation. it's an interesting system ever since that the storm system goes throughout the day and we have cold air that will cool. for the poconos, sleet and changing over to snow tomorrow morning allentown reading lancaster, immediate suburbs. it starts as light rain and changes to ice and eventually to snow monday night. philadelphia areas south and east this is a light rain event. coming up a closer look at the system on the way and we'll let you know how cold it gets tomorrow with the accuweather forecast. we'll send you back your way. >> melissa thank you. for the latest forecast keep an ion stor
