morgan hill jumped 13 degrees. it's a tough forecast but that's what we're going with. the record not that long ago, 101 back in 2002. there's the fog not widespread or sold out but favoring areas on the coast and a little bit in the city. the monsoon moisture getting its act together in a big way, certainly down towa a lot of that continues to stay to the south for now. there's hints d 60s on the temperatures. upper 60s for some, a few 40s certainly to the north and the delta wind is now just a delta breeze. it was screaming overnight. not too bad right now but water temperature is very cold. 51 in san francisco and buoy at 53. we haven't warmed up yet. you take the turn at santa barbara. 39 up in truckee. 93 with high humidity and thunderstorms in the area around las vegas. palm springs a little different twist for them. so far it's creeping up the sierra staying just to the south at tahoe, truckee and reno. something to keep an eye on. 70s and 80s, almost 100 out there in vacville and same for brentwood. a summertime pattern in place. 98 in morgan hill, i'm going wit

right now we are looking at northbound 101 in gilroy up in morgan hill. the super commute looks good into the area with no major issues all the way up into the silicon valley and the commute here is off to a very nice start. a live look at 280 in san jose and beyond that looking good. at the bay bridge toll plaza its light. >>> we are following the latest on the wildfire in napa and yolo. since it started on saturday. cal fire hoped to start a back fire but only if the winds stayed calm. the back fires are when they fight fire with fire, setting small fires to burn up a hill and meet a wall of flames, stopping the fire because there is nothing left to burn. they are also using super air tankers to drop flame retardant but the smoke yesterday made it impossible to continue. >> we had to r operations on the north side of the fire, up toward gle nda because of visibility problems. they had to shut down the air craft with the exception of helicopters. >> and as many as 12 helicopters picked up water from a nearby reservoir and then started dumping huge bucket

we'll start down in the south bay. 80 at san jose to 86 in morgan hill. low 60s along the coast. downtown south san francisco, sausalito mid-60s there. upper 70s to low 80s through most of the north bay. 68 in richmond. 69 in berkeley and then low to mid-70s for most of the east bay shore. then you see fremont at 77. as you move inland temperatures from 80 in san ramone and concord about 90. how about temperatures in the mid-50s again tonight with cloudy conditions. maybe a degree or two cooler for tuesday but it's really wednesday. we're stuck in the 50s at the coast and mainly 70s elsewhere. and you can see the temps start to rebound thursday and then we're mild to warm as we head through the weekend. a check of the morning commute.. no major issues and really just that little bit of red starting to fill in. no surprise it's getting out of tracy this morning. westbound 205 to 580, 27 and 17 miles an hour. normally it's about ten miles an hour slower than that by now. so you can tell it is a holiday week here in the bay area. bay bridge toll plaza, we have a stackup in the cash

it looks great out of morgan hill this morning. you're in the green northbound direction as you make your way into san jose where we are tracking an earlier looks like it was a grass fire and it still has two lanes blocked along northbound 680 right at king. so fire crews are there. you will see some activity, some flashing lights, definitely a visual distraction. but it's not slowing anyone down. it's still very early right now and traffic is still very light but if they are out there much longer in the bulk of that morning commute, it could cause delays for some folks. 101 near north first street, light traffic, no problems. north bay a full freeway closure southbound 101 in geyserville, it's wrapping up because our sensors are now in the yellow and speeds are close to the limit. they are re-opening those lanes. through petaluma, no delays. some slowdowns on 37. nothing to write home about. eastshore freeway looking okay. crowds are develin your way in the westbound direction. drive times at the green. 12 minutes into san francis
