since that attack, there have been two more mountain lion sightings. one tuesday near woodside and one last night. >> this was in a neighborhood near san carlos people who saw the lion say it was in the road eating a deer. officials say the sightings are actually fairly common, and it's attacks that are rare. >> the picture is a little blurry but shows a mountain lion standing over a deer. this is taken out of a car window around 10:30 last night. what you don't see in this picture is how close the lion is to homes. >> i heard there are mountain lions here. i saw one. it was scary. >> devin and his dad, jesse got a text from a family member who took the picture. they went to investigate. we saw it shooting down the hill. >> this just days after a mountain lion attacked a little boy after a search with trackers, department of fish and wildlife shot and killed the animal wednesday the department tested the lion's dna with is a liva and determined it's the same lion that attacked him. then, we're able to determine that the cat did not have rain ease. it wa

in addition to the trackers, biologists set up four baited traps to try to catch the mountain lion alive>> we're kind of hoping that the lion will be attracted to the bait and go in, but we're just trying everything we can. >> dna tests will be conducted to determine confirmation, and once confirmed the lion will be put down. the boy is now recovering at home. >>> in woodside the county sheriff's department said it spotted a mountain lion and three cubs just before 8 this morning. the siting was in a park in woodside about 18 and a half miles from where sunday's attack took place, so officials are confident the cases involve two different animals. >>> a dispute between san francisco and pg and e could escalate after a resolution calling for the expansion of the city's shot spotter program. they are attached to utility poles and can alert police whenever gun shots are heard. the problem is, pge is demanding the city pay a fee of $1,500 per pole where they're installed. a resolution set to be introduced today calls for 35 additional devices and for pg and e to reduce the fee. >>> the san j

state game wardens and tracking dogs worked all night and most of the morning searching for the mountain lion in the cupertino hills. they didn't find the big cat but know he's close. >> today we did get multiple strikes from the dogs, nothing really very hot, basically a lot of it just cold trailing. >> reporter: the worry is this mountain lion has proven to be more erratic and dangerous than most. >> the fact that it attacked a youngster and then also made an aggressive movement towards a group of not one person but nine people, that's completely rare and totally out of whack as far as the way the gears in the way a mountain lion should be thinking. >> reporter: the attack happened sunday in this trail off montebello road. the line pounced on a 6-year- old boy from behind scratching and biting him before being chased off by the boy's friends and family out hiking. the boy was treated overnight and released from valley medical center. meantime the boy's ripped up t- shirt was sent to the state animal forensic lab in sacramento to get the mountain lion's dna. it will be used to prove a match
