where last night he had to be tranquilized and captured after wandering into an parent complex in mountain view. you'll notice in this video, thhe is wearing a radio collar. the santa cruz puma college helped with release and has been tracking this 2-year-old male mountain lion for the past couple of weeks. they reported him as 46m, which is his tag number, tell us he is, quote, a dispersal male, which in people speak means he's a young cat who has broken away from his mother in search of food and territory, basically trying to find his own place in the world, but in that endeavor, sometimes ends up venturing into an urban environment. people first spotted him around 6:00 last night in mountain view. then in the parking lot garage of a nearby apartment complex, where he hid for several hours beneath a car while police officers surrounded him with their guns and rifles drawn. fortunately, they were never needed. late last night, fish and wildlife was able to tranq the big cat and release him back into the wild just before midnight. the department of wildlife saying this was the textbook example
