you have had a pleasant interaction with mr ford. you were asking him about sports and things of that nature. and you formed the opinion that mr floyd was under the influence of something. and you base that on sort of i think you said a delay in his speech in response right so you were happy unlike a conversation that we may be having right now that's wrapping. if you asked him a question there would be much more of a slower or delayed response. and i believe in your interviews you also indicated that he was having some trouble. with certain words couldn't you try to form the words so he was delayed in his speech and. you believed him to be under the influence of something current. and. you were present when your coworker called 911 could and do you recall him telling 911 that he appeared to be under the influence. and you had also had by the time 911 was called and had 2 other interactions with mr ford. outside of the car could and so you made the decision after mr ford had handed you this counterfeit $20.00 bill. that you were going

mr ford's characteristics of his breathing. terrible question your obvious or over. during the incident when you were there did you make some observations of the characteristics of mr ford's breathing that concerned you. i don't remember anymore . what is what is meant by the term british thing or agonal breath a little gas. we see here and patients that are dying or pretty much dead it's just kind of the bodies. they give you i don't i don't quite know but it's the side of death and if you've seen that in other calls when you've been working yes and did you see something similar in mr floyd i don't remember any more but i. saw during that time period. he. did not regain consciousness but you saw. and you stayed with him or i'm sorry you. were there as the entire time until he was loading the ambulance correct correct. and. at some point you made. well i guess the question is this. you didn't pay close attention to mr floyd at some point because you knew he was unconscious. needing medical attention there was no question there. and based on that. you focused more in

mr played in so how many officers did you see over mr ford. in my memory for whatever reason i remember seeing 4 on his body and we know now that was 3 when you 1st walked up and came around from that side. but then you had to go around the other side on the curb over side of the squad car correct correct. and. when you saw that positioning of those officers. did that concern you absolutely why. he wasn't moving and he was cuffed and. that's all. 3 grown man is a lot of putting all their weight on somebody is too much. and did you notice where this officer you know know to be mr showman where he was putting his weight on mr floyd his neck. and it's not only did you know the person making on the ground prone on the ground who was handcuffed not not you subsequently learned his identity. and. that individual on the ground under the officers. could you tell if he was moving at all. i he was not moving his face was. the 1st thing that concerned me is his face was. like smack smushed into the ground swell and hearing me and. you know at that point

off of mr ford snack you know ok when the ambulance arrived does he do that though. and. and did you see a paramedic you know an ambulance personnel check for mr florence paul's. very heavy burden when the paramedics arrived did you continue to watch when the paramedics got out of the ambulance and check on mr foy it did or did you see if they checked for mr ford's polls. believe that they were attempting to go check of course. they need to. you still on top of. each other post. very very hard to remember they were in shit false. memory that. there is a response of that plane i think your answers your question thank you now when. paramedics loaded mr ford into the ambulance are you still there at the scene that is. and after that happened. did you see what the officers did well let me back up a bit at some point did you learn that there were more than. those 2 officers at the scene but if or when did you learn that. the lambs have arrived i did notice that there was more to it one officer more than 2 officers on the scene so where did you see or how did you see these other

and you thought you considered whether it might be bio fluid from mr ford correct current if you knew that it wasn't fluid from mr floyd would it have changed your assessment of his medical needs at that point not seriously about it. and your assessment of. medical condition at that time you believe he needed immediate medical attention so. you were asked about whether you hear the officers talking to the officers or a summary be more specific other. that officer tao you told us you spoke directly to. the other 3 officers talked to you at all not that i remember. did any of the officers tell you hey we've got an ambulance coming. not that i remember today or the officers tell you they've got the fire department coming up your ass a little bit about what you thought your typical response time for the fire department because that's who you work for correct. and you're being asked about something you really don't know about in terms of the fire department's response in this case. and you don't know anything about who called the ambulance or who called fire from this particular case. so h

you heard initially heard what was being said by mr ford right. and you said crossing into the store and you never went into cup which yourself. you turned around and you pretty much right away from the time you century president of the store right away start recording. alternately you recorded from the from that point all the way until shortly after the paramedics came off. and so it's fair to say that prior to you. as you approached. mr ford it was hard in that position yes it was on her yes anything that happened prior to that you wouldn't be privy to or know what happened. but you. and so what we saw from your the. play was roughly 10 minutes of time he'd agree. throughout the course of your time you were courting you can you would agree that he watched the video there are times you can work for a straight current he can hear the voices of the other people by their. hands and i believe you said there were 12 biden and there were 12 to 14 people kind of right there. current. were you also observing people were asked street. were who are serving

of joy for it onto the gurney only been dismissed the shop let up and get up and you see him drag mr ford's body and unceremoniously cast it onto the gurney. and that was for a total of 4 minutes and 44 seconds you can see here that for the 1st 4 minutes and 45 seconds you'll learn that mr boyd was col about crime for spying and lazy joe not just mr floyd you want to hear and see that there were any number of bystanders who were there who are also calling out to let up and getting such that this afloat be able to breathe and to maintain and to sustain his life but then for the remaining 4 minutes of 44 seconds miss the floyd was either unconscious breathless or polls and the compression the squeezing and grinding went on just the same for the total of 9 minutes and 29 seconds. you're going to learn in this case. quite a lot about the minneapolis police department's use of force policy what you're going to see and learn a lot about. is what is the standard for applying force against individuals the use of force policy you learn in the minneapolis police department employee you show only use

let's focus on what we learn about this nine minutes and 29 seconds and you will be able to hear mr. ford saying please, i can't breathe. please, man. please. this nine minutes and 29 seconds, you will see mr. floyd is handcuffed on the ground, he verbalized 27 times you will hear in the four minutes and 45 seconds i can't breathe, please, i can't breathe. he will see mr. chauvin is kneeling on mr. floyd's neck and back, his knee on his back is off and on on his back you can see for yourself in video footage. you will hear mr. floyd, you hear him cry out for mother when he's being squeezed. >> we will take you back to the trier of derek chauvin in minneapolis. charged in the death of george floyd who died in police custody. >> good afternoon. i don't know if that's you or me. i'd like to ask you a few follow-up questions about okay.
