we've got live pictures from myrtle beach. plenty of misery for people who were hoping to enjoy the beaches this memorial day weekend. our weather team is covering both of these storms. >> allison, what's going on? >> even though it's not raining that much at the moment, the river flooding is a delayed effect so it takes a little longer before it peaks. here is a look at what we have going on in the texas area. this will be as we progress through the day. notice we have more showers and thunderstorms, even the potential for severe weather impacting this weather going into portions of the day. the area between houston and san angelo, texas, is where we've really had the bulk of the rain. we're also following tropical storm bonnie. again, we want to give you a little idea of that. as we zoom in a little closer, some areas of concern would be charleston, and wilmington. you get a pressure gradient. the winds get strong. that can also lead to very bad rip currents, and we know at least one person at this hour that is missing off t

we are watching two areas here and southeast texas. >>> beautiful myrtle beach with janet. thank you very much. also, today, the cincinnati police department says it has no intent to file charges on the family of the young boy who fell into the gorilla enclosure at the cincinnati zoo. zoo keeper killed the 400 pounds animal to save the life of this three years old child sparking outrage. bake mccoy wi blake mccoy were the latest for us. what do we expect them to say? >> reporter: we expect them to defend the decision of shooting and killed the gorilla. a three years old child fallen into that enclosure. the child was in the enclosure for more than ten minutes. at times being picked up by the gorilla and dragged through and that's when officials made the difficult decision, they say to shoot and kill the gorilla. the reason they did not use a tranquilizer is two reasons, one, it would have taken several minutes for it to kick in and two by hitting the animal with that tranquilizer could hav hav agitated him more and causing more danger. they're defending that decision, peopl

you can see it right here pretty much right around myrtle beach and coming through wilmington, northarolina. it is just going to kind of hang out there. mostly this stream of moisture continuing to move up to the east of i-95. then this is a frontal system, a weak front. we're also seeing a few showers just inside we have a little one that popped up right there by takoma park. this is the way it is going to be as we continue into the evening. keep an eye on the sky along i-81, especially west. we could see a few showers and thunderstorms as this weak cold front moves through the region. let's go ahead and show you the future cast. we continue to have some rain east of i-95 off to the eastern shore into southern maryland and the northern neck. maybe a few showers popping up around the metro area. here comes that front. i don't think it is going to make it inside the beltway, but could see some showers and thunderstorms. a few possible showers overnight. we're going to be mostly dry tomorrow. doug and i have taken out the chance of rain for most of you are areas. east of 95 you could s

tropical storm bonnie, now that we're calling it post tropical bonnie. 29 miles west southwest of myrtle beach, yesterday this storm was around charleston south carolina so it hasn't moved much at all and slow movement according to the latest forecast will continue, it is hugging south carolina and north carolina coast and right around the outer banks, by thursday, now, this factors into our forecast, because we do expect to it continue this northeasterly movement which means eventually it will affect our weather but question is when. that is why it is an uncertain forecast for the weekend, yes, only tuesday but we are looking forward to the weekend. here's today's cold front making its way through, probably dissipating before it gets through but it will change our weather. we will still be warm. we will have plenty of sunshine but by end of the day we expect lower humidity thanks to the the northwesterly breeze. there is yesterday's plume of moisture, just like saying plume and that is what it looks like and that is what it was moving northward from hurricane what never was hurricane bo
