i just checked with new bedford police and they didn't have an update on the sergeant's condition, but at last check, sergeant trinidad was in serious condition with nonlife-threatening injuries. all of this happening yesterday at this very busy intersection at route 18 and elm street. a group of dirt bikers were riding dangerously around the city including on sidewalks according to south coast today, 30 to 40 dirt bikes were at the intersection when some of them ran through a red light. police eventually arrested those riders four miles away at the former flag ship cinema on kingshighway. but when officers are were arresting those riders one of them identify as 24-year-old carlos gonzalez ran sergeant trinidad over which is bike. charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. police also arrested eight other men, all nine are scheduled to appear in court today. i am checking in with police and while i was at that busy intersection, i did see a number traffic cameras. now asking if they have video of this incident. of course, as soon as i have an update, i will lit know. in
