new jersey side. it's this side going from new jersey over to delaware. that's where the problem s travel really slow-going and that means if you head south on the new jersey turnpike or 295 south you do not want to cross the delaware river here. traffic backed up we're hearing as of a few hours ago it was a six-mile backup but now it's rush hour and could be closer to 10 miles. we took pictures a short time ago. engineers were doing an inspection a couple weeks ago and noticed three suspender ropes, real thick cables, wires that connect the main cable to the bridge deck those three ropes needed to be replaced. all three next to one another. crews came out yesterday and at that point determined they needed it to be replaced immediately. just to give you an idea. there's a couple hundred of these cables. we're talking about three of them. all the rest are in good shape. these three needed to be replaced. as a result, only one lane is getting by right now. they were hoping they started this yesterday and they were hoping that this morning they would on up a second lane. that didn't happen and we're hearing, while they're not giving us an exact timeline, it will be a cou
