these are people we know who works in new york city -- who work in new york city and live anywhere. e thing i identified is either knocking on your door or knowing where you live in new york city. does that make sense? we know that these people were definitely working in new york city and living in new york city. there is a whole bunch of data points that i don't have here that are people living outside and working in the city. when you look at the traction, it only turned out to be less than 10%. 85% to 95% of the people who work in manhattan even as late as 1900 or coming either from manhattan, brooklyn, jersey city and the bronx, and then you are at 100%. so to your question, there is no real evidence linked from the point of commuting that rail commuting, like metro-north type of commuting, was present in the early part of the 20th century. so in that sense, it does nothing there was a type of hub yet to develop where workers, in during the day, they want to their offices, and then they get the rails back home. that is one thing. the other thing i would just say is based on the -

good news is the flash flood warning for new york city has been allowed to expire. you still have it in effect for the rain that's fallen in parts of bergen and passaic county and other areas under flood advisories west of new york city including union and essex counties and east of the city onto long island and north of the city surrounded by flood advisories. the radar picture right now showing that initial downpour that cau inch of rain in about an hour's time exiting off of long beach. there are more showers replacing that one moving across new york harbor right now. more rain into st. george and lower parts of monohat tan and union and essex counties. those will be moving east across the city and those can cause in fairfield connecticut. this batch of thunderstorms will try to work its way east overnight and could be in the viewing area by early tomorrow morning. especially south of new york city by 4 or 5:00 in the morning. during the day going to get a break before the sun tries to come out and that could destabilize the atmosphere and cause more heavy showers

it put us above the average of 27 inches for new york city. again, let's wait and see storms are out there primarily west of new york city, west of our area. they haven't even really made it into the new jersey pennsylvania line yet. 81 feels like 87. it is a little bit cooler because we had this one shower come through new york city right there. it cooled us off a little bit. now we start watching this line. let's time it out. it stretches to baltimore. i can time this and show you if it holds itself together somewhere around 8:00 or maybe way to new york. we also think that some of this as it is closer to the water will weaken. that's why we think the best bet for heavier storms would be west of new york city. relief will come when the arrows are flowing from the north and they become northerly. it's not hipped that line. it's this -- behind that line. it's this line. that will make it feel better. look forward to that. tonight, a chance for severe weather, most of risk of around 30% or so. we'll talk more later. >> thanks so much. >>> a mass
