it's been raining off and on for parts of the bay area, with some showers in the north bay. dry in the south bay, as you get ready to get this workweek started. i think most of us can leave the umbrella at home unless you're in the north bay where you're seeing waves of showers. here is a look at the system that's passing by, far northern california, even some lightning up there. as we get a closer look at the north bay, the rain has been hit or miss. right now moving over napa county and heading toward solano county. once that clears out, we are only going to see a couple of showers moving through and the rest of the day we'll get a chance to get peeks of sunshine. not all clear and sunny today, and for the most part once again, the rain will be early in the day. and our temperatures will head for the mid to upper 60s for this afternoon. and then as we go toward the rest of the week, we'll see the storm trek heading farther to the north and also high pressure building. it may not be until early next week when we see our next chance of some showers coming in. and we're getti

widespread light showers up in the north bay as we are waking up.n i say widespread i mean it is ranging from the coast into st. helena. in the grand scheme of things, it is dry. we are seeing light drizzle near st. helena, dry in the area where current temperatures are still in the low 50s in concord, napa, cooler south into pleasanton. along the bay bridge and north along golden gate bridge too, mostly low 50s into this morning's forecast. we will warm up this afternoon into upper 50s lower 60s throughout north bay. this afternoon into the next couple days we'll be deal with a gradual warming trend heading into a very warm weekend. i mentioned it earlier. we will see a 20-degree jump from today all the way into our saturday forecast for some of us in the north bay. for our friends in san jose, into the tri valley area, we'll be in the upper 80s, lower 90s this weekend. we will prepare for that in your first alert forecast. you will want to start hydrating especially if you plan on heading outdoors this weekend. how are the roads looking for this m

so north bay valleys, santa rosa you will be at 78. l be mid 70s for most of the warmer inland east bay communities. the city, 63 oakland and 66. and let's pull out a few more numbers for the south bay. with san jose going to 75. there's not a whole lot of variance here but there's los gatos getting closer to 08 and notice how we shade warmer down here as you get back closer towards the hills. which is pretty typical. that's where you usually find some of the warmest numbers down there. and when we look at the 7 day, this doesn't change. we're pretty much just sitting right here. san francisco and oakland you are up first. and when we bring in the north bay and south bay numbers, it will be mid 80s today. so a little noticeably warmer today in the north bay than in the south bay. and when we get to the middle part of next week there's a noticeable cooldown possible. that one a few more days to play out and doesn't look like -- i don't know that we've necessarily got that dramatic of a cooldown in the upper 60s but it is possible at this

north bay checking in at 50. daytime highs tomorrow stay very steady. down here across the south bay, it's going to leave us with 67 in los gatos. yes, 67. so might need the jacket through the afternoon, at least a light jacket. 73 in east san jose. then you can see some 60s in gilroy, morgan hill. sea breeze coming in from the south. east bay, 75 in antioch. 69 hayward. peninsula 64. 70 palo alto. san francisco, 68 in the marina. north bay up to 72 in santa rosa. while this weather today and tomorrow is just nice to be out in, the other thing, thankfully, is helping us out with the fire season. this year, only 1,000 acres burned with 985 different incidents. last year at this time, we already had over 9,000 acres burned and we're trending below the average. the average is just over 7,000 acres. again, only 1,000 acres burned. we haven't seen that in years. so nice to see that. on the seven-day forecast in san francisco, we keep that morning fog, afternoon sunshine, and low 60s right through memorial day. for the inland valleys, almost a carbon copy each

let's check in on the north bay and pull out detail. a lot of mid-60s. variability. for more detail, san jose is 67 for the daytime high. i think most of the bay could look at that and plan the same way by 10:00 a.m. it is 57 and at noon it is 62. things will change on monday. we looked at it but i want you to see that system, most of it goes to the north of us. it is a fair rainmaker, it had bad aim for us. if we step it down and watch it in more detail, let's come in for a closer look one more time and watch that. from a monday commute concern , this will not be the kind of rain that would slow things down. we will let this go right into the heart of the morning. that is 8:00 am. any rain holding together is fairly spotty and we get into blue sky and sunshine for monday. it will not be the whole day. we will keep looking cloudy. there is not a lot. if we look at this in the seven-day forecast, because of that we have to put a rain icon on monday but it is not that big of a deal. we are waiting for the pattern to change . so we can kind of get back into

maybe a degree or two warmer inland compared to today's high temperatures, most noticeable for the north bayget into there in a second. upper 50s in the coast and down the peninsula and around the south end of the bay. only the low 70s in the santa clara valley. you're suppose to be around 80 degrees in concord, but you'll hit the low 70s along with most inland parts of the east bay and the warmest spots hitting the mid-70s. and low 70s for the north bay tomorrow. after a few days where you have been stuck in the 60s, thanks to the very persistent stubborn cloud cover, more sunshine. temperatures will return to the 70s, but even the warmer spots in lake county are going to fall short of 80 degrees. the long range forecast, shows temperatures warming up a little bit around san francisco and oakland and back to a degree or two in the 60s. and 70s for oakland. more noticeable inland for warmer parts of the bay area. in the north bay and the santa clara valley tomorrow, to the low 80s by saturday and sunday. then we coast back down to closer to normal temperatures by monday and tuesday. the warm

we start to get in on some sun here for the north bay. inland east bay and south bay too. through the afternoon, likely some of that fog hanging out through the bay, san francisco, and of course at those beaches. so that's the one thing that's going to be a little bit different here for us. numbers to start, begin in the 50s. not too many differences through the bay area when you look at morning temperatures. 52 for the east bay. daytime highs tomorrow with that foggy breeze staying strong at the coast, it's going to help numbers to drop 4 to 7 degrees. instead of those 80s we had earlier this week, even a few 90s, we're back down to 74 here in milpitas. for the east bay, up to 78 in antioch. that's some of our max temperatures out there. 73 in danville. 67 hayward. peninsula, 59 daly city. sonoma 74 and mill valley at 68. we've been telling you about that chance of thunderstorms for the sierra. you can see here through tomorrow afternoon, it's pretty widespread. right now, not expecting anything for the bay area. we'll have that doppler radar going. also more chances here
