investigators are trying to find out what caused a deadly fire at an apartment building in northwest d.c. the fire killed one man and displaced about 200 other people at the rolling terrace apartment building. the flames broke out early saturday morning. residents were forced to jump from windows, as firefighters carried young children down ladders. firefighters found a man's body on the third floor, in the room they believe the fire started. mayor muriel bowser issued a statement yesterday saying, quote: "i was deeply saddened to hear today's news, and our thoughts and prayers are with the victim's family and friends."
