east bay richard green and yellows through berkeley, oakland and san leandro. cuts off right about hayward along highway 24. it's a slow drive through caldecott and lafayette and at the moment 680 is dry and this is moving east so they will eventually be in it, as well. here's a look at portions of the south bay. sunnyville, milpitas, san jose, in and out of rain around morgan hill and over santa cruz we continue to see the rain there. snow levels remain low. we have some snow falling over areas that looks like the diablo range, mount hamilton right now and here's a look at the sierra where down about looks like pines and even below, right about 4,000 feet, so it's come up just a little bit. areas over grass valley foresthill closer to 2500 feet. there is an advisory still in place until tomorrow morning. here's the center of the storm and why it continues to bring thus wraparound moisture so even though we get breaks at times, more moves in and that's going to be what we see for tonight as well as tomorrow. the winter storm morning goes until tomorrow morning

san leandro. just south of oakland over the san mateo bridge into the peninsula from daly city into san mateo halfmontero. there are some brakes to the north but get ready for that cold unstable air. gusting up to 32 at sfo, some of the higher elevations are over 40 so the low is not going anywhere until sunday. the best bet for thunderstorms hail or snow would be saturday into sunday. all right sal. >> we have a lot going on and a lot of this is slow traffic. let's start with the east bay, we had the earlier crash on fruitvale but the traffic is taking a while to unwind. going to oakland airport if you're taking 880 from downtown you need some extra time because of the slow traffic and the rain. on the maps 880 in both directions we have accidents but northbound is also slow from san leandro. 580 is backed up from castro valley through the lakeshore curve. 13 is slow as well as you drive through. let's go to 680 northbound and southbound where we had an earlier crash that is still clearing on 680 driving pleasanton northbound and southbound 680 because of the overturned truck. again that is north

big tie-ups on the freeways right now. 880 southbound opposite commute direction out of oakland in towards san leandro, we have all lanes blocked currently. this is southbound 880 at davis. he give yourself extra time and avoid 880. no word when the lanes will re- open. it's a mess. three crash turned into a car fire. 580 is at the limit. bay bridge toll plaza metering lights are on and it's 21 minutes into san francisco. >>> this is a small storm. we are dealing with a bigger system coming through. so here's a look at the richmond bridge with a lot of rain. some areas are getting some pretty strong downpours out there right now. but some areas are pretty dry. especially if you are anywhere near downtown san francisco half moon bay. it's giving us a moment to dry up a little bit across the south bay, as well. but there are some areas where the rain is going to start to pick up and get intense. you can see where the rain is coming down in this live camera. heavy rain in the area with slick roads. rain everywhere. scattered showers heavy downpours across the north bay . i believe we have a live picture

it is slow to the downtown oakland area from san leandro. things are starting to normalize. frank has been talking about 24. i've been talking about it. we've had a slow morning since 4:00 there. were serious crashes. also in the 5:00 hour. it has been slow and traffic has not recovered. highway 4 and 680 are also slow this morning. and if you're driving out to the san mateo bridge, we do have traffic that is going to be -- it looks like it is raining there out to the pence l the peninsula itself has really started to get slower and slower. i'm going to push in here and show you. look at 101. both directions from south city to san mateo, i wouldn't want to be on that freeway. southbound 280 is slow from daly city all the way down past crystal springs. i wouldn't want to be on that freeway. if i had to go, i would choose 280. nevertheless, it will be tough. in the south bay, northbound 85 near stephens creek, there's an accident. 85 is the messiest freeway. all of the freeways getting up into the valley, especially 85 and 280 are very slow. if you don't have to go now, i woul
