there weren't two off-duty police officers involved -- there were two off-duty police officers involved but only one was shot. in the meantime they're stl trying to figure out just how many shots were fired but there were quite a few. all this happened about 6:00 or so this evening. police say two roommates got into a heated argument inside one ever the apartments. one of those was an off-duty fort meyers military police officer. he ran out of the amounts to get help. -- apartments to get help. his roommate located the officer's service weapon, ran out into the parking lot and began randomly firing. about the same time an off-duty capitol police officer drove up, saw what was happening and began firing at the suspected gunman. both of them exchanged gun fire. both of them were struck, both the suspect and the off-duty capitol police officer. and also struck, a 12-year-old girl by a stray bullet. she was inside her own apartment. the broad daylight gun battle has neighbors here shaking their heads. >> makes it pretty scared. me and my family live right there on the bottom floor. i mean,
