i grew up in orinda. the orinda theater was vital to that community. they've kept it.ou see it off highway 24. just talk about theater, arts and this building and how important it is to the community . completely important. i actually started in salinas, california, with the fox theater there, built by the same people. and the importance is number one, you bring all the community in through all the school plays , uh, anything dealing with libraries or the city itself. and now that it's city run, it's great because we get all the support from the community. we'll be supporting live entertainers from the local area, entertainers from the bay area, hopefully some international artists. we're working on. and the thing is, working with the pittsburgh theater group and all the theater groups from brentwood and surrounding areas will be bringing all the communities together with theater shows, plays and live entertainment. and that's the basis of the downtown bringing it back to where it was and bringing people back to downtown. i know you've got some shows coming up. tell us

we just passed the orinda station, so now we're going through the caldecott tunnel. if you take a look around, couple of things. you'll notice it is not that packed. one of the complaints we heard is that bart is running shorter trains, six and eight cars. and so some people over the past week complained that the trains were getting too crowded. but now that these yellow line trains are running more frequently every ten minutes instead of every 15, it's not quite as crowded. that's kind of diffuse the crowd. you also noted this is a newer train car. bart is now retiring most of its legacy. cars that have been running for the past 50 years or so. and now these newer train cars, you'll see there's more standing room and none of those upholstered seats that the older train cars used to have. so i want to talk to you, mike rivera from concord . what did you notice when you got on a train this morning or got to the station? the train seems to have come more frequently, missed. my typical train came up the platform. it's there a lot less people for sure right now. is it le

martinez, lafayette, orinda anybody else? yes.t's much cooler humidity is higher, but it's cooler. 70s on the desert, including phenix 60s through the interior. one low came through yesterday that helped cool us down and the activity in southern california moved into arizona. and i'll say it was lit up and it will still be active today. so any travel plans down there, but a little bit of relief from that. just the endless heat. they've had big thunderstorms last night into early this morning. the low goes through, the high builds in, but there is a little different twist here. after today, we'll start a cooldown and this one should last us into the weekend. the reason being there's a low about ready to move in. it'll come underneath the ridge, which is going to build up into the pacific northwest and look at the surge in the fog here thursday and again on friday, all the way out to the sacramento valley. that'd be a heck of a push there. and it's all because this low is going to settle in. you'll see. i'll show it to you coming in

lafayette and orinda both at 59. el sobrante, kensington 55. but upper 50s and low 60s 39.moth, a couple of things going on. the highs building northward up in the pacific northwest, warmer for portland and seattle. we have a little low saying, you know, i'm going to take the path of least resistance and it's going to come in underneath. so bigger fog bank, a little cooler here today. cooling will continue into the weekend as that low marches close to us before it dives south. so i put in the synoptic features here so it makes a little more sense. the circulation around that high right there, right off of portland, here comes our little low and it'll play into our weather, into sunday. then it takes a little dive south. the key is going to be what happens next week. there are projections of another low dropping in mainly to the intermountain region, one over us and another one to the west. so lots of changes here for september. we'll see how it irons out. but right now, there's no sign of any heat or extended heat at all. we had a little warm up on monday, wednesday. now we
