you saw you know, lee harvey oswald and you see television showing the atrocities in vietnam, the atfensive, television showing the cities burning and then you see robert kennedy getting shot on television. this is in everyone's living room. everybody is sharing this emotionally. it affects us in way that is reach down to our guts and souls and shape who we are. to many, robert kennedy had such political potential. historians saying he had grown and gained a soul and a heart than this hard-charging young man that he once was. there was something else that he had that was lost on america in that moment in time. which really was his ability to hold the old america and the new america together. he was probably the only politician who could hold the diverging parts and keep them dplu glued as one. he could speak to the anti-war movement and to the hard hats and working class. he could speak to the students and to their parent's generation. he could tap into his opposition to the war and connect with people who had a strong loyalty to john f. kennedy and his memory. what is so interesting

. -- rachel oswald, what is the status of support in that committee for the nomination? rachel: i would say it is close to near certain he does not have support for a single recommendation. we have had rand paul, against, as have all democrats, with the exception of chris coons of delaware. he told me he is leaning against mike pompeo. >> what are rand paul's principal objections so far? rachel: he objected to mike pompeo's military interventionist policies, his advocacy for the war in iraq and potential military intervention in iran over its nuclear program deal, pastobama administration. statements equivocating the elections,, some comments he made about muslims their complicity potentially in terrorist attacks if they were not condemning them and his stances against gay civil rights. also, a number of senators think he won't tell president trump things he doesn't want to hear. tell president trump things he does not want to hear. there is concern about who will be talking to jump and whether they will speak truth to power. >> do you think the meeting between mike pomp
