over one hundred units of affordable housing we've got to make sure that everybody lives safely in our city we don't lose housing, in fact, we need to net new build housing in the city to the building inspection commission will make sure that happens commission on the status of women and equal pay of advisors board are important nor many, many reasons many of you know you'll be co-sponsors with libby shaft on women's economic empowerment this october we'll bring together all of you and anyone that is have read or interested in making sure that women have no gooblz to economic opportunity and less barriers and those two commissioners will do that i'm excited about the individuals appointed there it is a lot of great talent and high commitment brought to the bodies with respect to equal pay that's a fairly new board they're going to be 4r50k9sd the actual data so we understand what the economic gaps are between men and women in our city and what we need to do that about it and, of course the status of women take that data address revolve it through policy oriented discussions and ultimately l

however, the areas minimal input from our cities and agencies. so in november of last year we authorized the department to nullify these pca's and conduct a more comprehensive study and to determine what san francisco's new pca's would be. so beginning january of this year the rec and park department as well as nonprofits like the green belt alliance and the california native plant society began their work. and the goal was to bring a science-based approach from the department of the environment green belt alliance with a hands-on and obs vaiblg work frrt* to go along with the policy support found in rec and parks work. i think the new areas that are proposed here incorporate all of the original ideas while expanding their scope to be nor inclusive of the vongd natural areas while capturing some new areas in our city. pe lieu belt's natural area is not changed. the green connection mcclairn park pivot is a brand new area in the southeast part of our city. glen canyon aka twin peaks bioregion is a new area. but it incorporates previous twin peaks

i'm proud of our city. proud of our voters, because soon more than 60,000 working san franciscans will get a raise. and as you know the minimum wage increases to $12.25 per hour effective may 1st. i mention this, because i'm taking every opportunity i can to raise awareness about this. we need to make sure that everyone who employs a low-wage worker and everyone out there earning a minimum wage knows about this increase on may 1st. i encourage every supervisor to p communicate with their constituents*, keep raising awareness about this through your newsletters, your community meetings, and your commercial corridor walks. that brings us to your question about enforcement supervisor mar. and i believe that an overwhelming majority of san francisco small business owners know the law and will follow the law. they do care about their workers. and in many cases, they see them as valued friends and critical components to success of their businesses. i have every expectation to believe that people will receive the w

and i don't think our city government has done what it needs to do. so we are in the process in san francisco of digging up almost every city street in the city. we are accelerating our road resurfacing, replacing our sewer system, our water mains. pg&e is doing an enormous amount of natural gas line work. we're doing all of this. and our city departments are not laying conduits in the street before they close it back up to be able to expand our existing municipal fiber network. it's -- i've never understood why this isn't happening. i hear excuses, but it's not rocket science. and it should have been happening for many many years. last year then-supervisor david chew authored legislation* that i cosponsored and we headed unanimously to require that our city department with some exceptions, lay conduit as their opening and closing* streets.* we learned that the budget committee that despite the fact that law has been on the books -- for i believe at least six months if not more -- maybe eight months -- not one inch of conduit has been laid. not one inc

most recently, i have served on our city, our city stakeholders group representing the ece community of center based providers and currently i'm working with the state standard reimbursement rate initiative steering committee and we are working with child development agencies who are state funded throughout the state to address the serious issues of the funding crisis that we have with our state dollars for state preschool and early education in general child care. as a member serving in seat 7 and/or 8, i would bring the voice of preschool providers throughout the city representing views and issues from a practicetysing naer's perspective and to help craft strategies and solutions to provide goals for providing quality education that is equitable and just for all our children. i feel very fortunate to live in the city of san francisco and to be able to do most of my career's work here. we're a city that cares deeply about children and we've worked together very hard through the various departments and communities to garner all of the resources that we can to show that san francisco
