nbc 10's pamela osborne is live in wilmington with details. pamela, what can you tell us?rter: tracy, good morning, we can tell you that fight happened inside a girl's bathroom here at the howard high school of technology. last night we caught up with students who returned here to the high school for a vigil. they gathered to console one another after the loss of their 16-year-old classmate and to show her family support. there were a lot of tears, a lot of hugs, a lot of people wanting to know why, what happened? here's what we know. it was sometime around 8:15 yesterday morning when the victim, a 16-year-old sophomore student was assaulted by two other girls. the fight happened out of sight in a girl's bathroom. the victim was so badly injured, that she had to be air lifted to the hospital where she died of her injuries. the entire school was on lockdown a couple hours later, early dismissals began. as police investigators took things from there. we talked to one student at that vigil last night. i'll let her describe to you how people are feeling. >> people upset and cr

reporting live i'm pamela osborne, "nbc 10 news." >> pamela, thank you. live team coverage continues now with "nbc 10's" deanna durante at police headquarters. what have you gathered? >> reporter: we do know what is standard in situations where police officers are shot is that the homicide division has the lead in this case. we know that homicide investigators have been up all night here. what we've learned from investigative sources, there were two separate crimes they tell us that led up to the shooting. they say there was a male who was a victim of a robbery or robbery attempt and then there was a woman who was a victim of the car jacking attempt and it's when the officer approached these men that those shots were fired. we do know that one man is in custody, was taken here to police headquarters. it's unclear how much information if any he's giving investigators at this point. we can tell you investigators are looking closely at surveillance video, video very close to the scene of that car jacking scene and investigators right now are on the hunt for

nbc 10's pamela osborne is live in our digital operations center.overnor tom wolf is already speaking out against this. tell us more. >> he certainly is. good morning, tracy. we're also hearing from local lawmakers as well as planned parenthood. they are saying house bill 1948 is one of the most restrictive abortion bills in the united states. the bill would ban abortions past 20 weeks. supporters of the bill say it updates current abortion laws which are quarter century old and that this new law is going to reflect some of the advancements of science and medical technology. montgomery county state representative pamela de-liscio says everyone should be concerned with the rate of speed at which it is moved through. the actual language, she says, was only made public on friday. today it's up for a final third vote. the bill has almost 100 co-sponsors and it doesn't include any provisions for rape, incest or fetal abnormalities. >> the fact that we are looking to punish people for a decision that they need to make or feel they need to make is somethin

that's where nbc 10's pamela osborne is live for us this morning.tell us what you've learned. >> reporter: vai, tracy, here's what we know so far. it was just after 2:00 a.m. when neighbors called police. they were concerned about a man sitting inside of that white dodge charger that you see there on the 1600 block of red field street. they were called here by those neighbors. they say they saw a man slumped over inside of that car. they told police that the car had been running for several hours. they thought the man inside may have been asleep or not feeling well. when police arrived to check on him, they discovered 25-year-old victim dead inside of that car. police believe that he was shot inside of that car while he was sitting there. he was shot once in the chest they are also checking surveillance cameras in the area to try to see if they picked up anything at pull. right now, no motive, no description of shooters as we await for that vehicle to be towed away and taken into evidence by police. reporting live in west philadelphia, pamela osborn

i'm pamela brown. there are officials wrapping up a press conference there in piketon, ohio, talking about this investigation and the man hunt for suspects after eight members of one family were killed at four separate crime scenes. many of these family members killed in their sleep. the attorney general calling this a preplanned execution. also with us cnn law enforcement analyst tom fuentes. there's still a lot of unanswered questions in the wake of this press conference. they repeatedly said this was preplanned, well planned, methodical killings. what would lead investigators to believe that and where do they go from here? >> i think pamela, they would go to that conclusion based on the four separate locations and just the methodical nature of how these were carried out. as the sheriff mentioned, it's not like someone went to commit a miurder at a particular location and others were there so he or she shot the rest of them to kill the witnesses. this was four separate locations. and then methodicall
