more from cnn's pamela brown at the white house. >> reporter: good morning, christine and dave.he house has approved the democrats memo to come to the white house. now it is up to the president whether he will declassify it. it was a test of transparency considering the justification releasing the nunes memo from the white house was transparency. it will be interesting to see how the white house handles this now it has the democrats memo. white house officials say the democrats memo will go through the same process as the republicans memo. it will be scrubbed. it will be reviewed by white house lawyers. the question is will there by any redactions? the republicans made changes from the fbi input before that memo came to the white house. adam schiff, the ranking democrat in the house intelligence committee, came out and said he is concerned the white house will redact part of the memo for political purposes. it remains to be seen what will happen. the president has five days to review the memo and make the decision on whether or not to declassify it. back to you. >> pamela brown,

pamela as borne is live for us. tell us about the drive there outside the city limits of philadelphia. >> reporter: yeah. we traveled 76. we traveled the northeast extension and the roads were pretty clear. they were a little bit wet on the surface. you could see snow on the sides. but everything was looking good. good news if you're headed out the door this morning. i want to give you a look at where we're at. this is hamilton and 7th street in allentown. you can see a lot of the roadways look like this, just slightly wet, a little slushy on the sides, on the corners when you make the turns. other than that, things are good. you can see that truck parked there. the snow actually fell but crews have been doing such a good job of clearing this up and out of the way. we have seen several plow trucks as well as salt trucks around allentown trying to make sure things are clear. even the sidewalks with clear fort most part at this point. that's a look at conditions where we are this morning in allen totow allentown. pame

nbc 10s pamela osborne is live in olney with details on the investigation. pam? >> reporter: the man inside of that car was rushed to temple hospital with serious burns. residents tell us this is a quiet neighborhood but it was anything but it 5:30 this morning when they heard a man yelling for hope. i spoke to one witness off camera who said the man who was burned was also bound and the man was begging for them to help them remove the restraints from his hands. and police and firefighters and fire marshall responded to the scene. we were here this morning when investigators photographed the car and searched for evidence nearby. i checked in with police, we were hoping to get an update on the victim's condition and more about the unusual circumstances surrounding this fire and this neighborhood street. we'll let you know just as soon as we get more information from them. reporting live in olney, i'm pamela osborne, nbc 10 news. >>> morning rain is now moving out and temperatures are falling across the area this morning. here's a live look at center city. flags fl

pamela? >> i want to say, the white house just released a statement moments ago reading, in part, it is more important now than ever to come together as americans. we cannot allow those speaking -- seeking to sow confusion, discord to be successful. it is time we stop the outlandish partisan attacks, wild and false allegations and far-fetched theories that only serve to further the actions of bad actors like russia. your reaction to that, steve? >> you know, it's pretty amazing. it's difficult to tell whether that's coming from the white house or the kremlin. often times their talking points seem to be quite similar. this is the same white house that called all of this ridiculous, a hoax. and, of course, yes, now they're going to say we were just talking about the collusion part. that's clearly not the case. two things struck me about this. first of all, the fact that the russian intelligence services actually sent teams of russians to do research to figure out how to best meddle in the elect

pamela brown. outfront tonight john dean president nixon white house counsel during watergate. and under president trump obama. richard painter, ethics lawyer for president george w. bush and former director of the nixon library. john, if i can, as pamela made the point there, the president is not always very clear what exactly he's calling a hoax, but cast doubt on the entire mueller russia investigation. does this affect tively bury the president's hoax claims? >> it certainly should. it couldn't be more clearly laid out. they have gone -- this is a speaking indictment. really lays out the facts very closely. and bulk of them relate to the fraud against the united states under 18 c 371 which is ironically the central statute that was involved in watergate as well. it's a very broad statute. and to me this looks like an indictment on which you build additional coconspirators and bring them into the picture. >> we notice this too. establish as criminal where i imagine richard painter if mueller were to find evidence, no evidence to be clear contained in this indictment of trump

pamela brown outfront to begin our coverage. just moments ago chief of staff kelly doubled down on lazy comments. >> that's right. speaking to my colleague, he did seem to double down saying some daca eligible who didn't sign up had reasons, but went on to say most probably needed to say to get off the couch. this is in the wake of his comments earlier today that caused quite a stir when he said some of those daca eligible that didn't eligible gap between 680,000 and 1.8 million were too afraid or lazy to get off his as as through no fault of their own. she asked if those comments were offensive. she left it up to the individual to decide and put the blame as you saw directly on the democrats. but it's clear that general kelly's comments today are an attempt to play to the base those with the hard line stance on immigration. as this was happening, erin, the president threw quite a curveball today when he basically said he would love a shutdown. another government shutdown if there is no fix on immigration. these comments coming

pamela brown is outfront, and pamela, it's hard to overstate the importance of the way he chose to answer that question. >> yeah, certainly not a ringing endorsement of his deputy attorney general, that president trump appointed to be in that position. now rod rosenstein for context, he's the man who appointed robert mueller to be special counsel. he's the man who oversees the russia probe. and he is mentioned in this memo released today as signing off on at least one occasion of a fisa warrant for carter page. now, you saw president trump ask that question, does he have confidence in rod rosenstein. there has been a lot of speculation about what's going to happen to him and his future. and the president sort of left it open question. however, i've spoken to sources familiar with the president's thinking. i'm told erin there is no consideration currently, i should emphasis currently, to fire rod rosenstein. and one reason, according to people i've spoken with, is because the president doesn't want to prolong the russia probe. the concern is if he fires him, that that would just prolong th

nbc 10's pamela osborn got on scene. what have you got so far? >> reporter: well, tracy, from where we're standing right now we can actually see three ladders that are extended in the air up above this fire. this is american legion building inside where firefighters are spraying is where woodstown keeps its ambulances. i want to show you some video to show you what it looked like when this fire first broke out. you can see this into tire building is completely engulfed in flames. residents say they woke up to the sounds of explosions this morning. this entire area has been flooded with first responders and vehicles. u.s. 40 both eastbound and westbound between route 45 and elm street are currently shutdown and closed off to traffic to accommodate all these emergency vehicles fighting this fire. we're going to try to reposition ourselves here where we can get a bit more information for you on this fire and what the situation is on those ambulances. we'll see you again for another live report with some more information at 6:00. reporting live in wo

. >> nbc 10's pamela osborn is live on scene. pam, neighbors say they heard the explosion earlier this morning from the building. tell us more. >> reporter: yeah, tracy. they said those explosions started at the 4:00 time this morning. there isn't really much there. you can see those bays where those ambulances were housed. they are completely destroyed. we can show you there does appear one that is still left behind that wasn't inside at the time of the fire. those explosions that followed. but this was just a massive fire. residents say the fire was actually as high up as those ladders you see now extended. we want to show you some viewer video of what this looked like when those flames first broke out. we've learned that there were four people that were inside the building. there was one person that was awake. three other people were asleep. that one person that was awake could sense something was going on, saw the smoke, felt the heat. was able to get everyone up and outside the building before the explosions, before that fir

. >> pamela osborne is live where some of the heaviest snow fell in the lehigh valley. good morning, pam. >> reporter: good morning. i'm a victim of the snowmelt coming down from the trees. we're standing in several inches of snow here in south white hall. not everybody is cleaning up this morning. as we mentioned, the temperatures are warming up. it's a perfect day to do a little four-wheeling. take a look. we found these kids out here playing, enjoying the warm temperatures and this fresh, fluffy snow that fell overnight. not causing a lot of issues on the roadway. although he's stuck and having trouble getting out. crews up and down streets in allentown. south white hall. all morning long. you can look at the pavement here. you can see things are pretty clear on the roadway. the only issue is that they're a little bit wet. the curb of the streets, there is a little bit more snow piled up there because the plows have gone through. again, not causing any major issues on the roadway this morning. just a little bit of stuff to clean up after. if you don't have to clean u

pamela osborne is live in all allento allentown. what are conditions like this morning there. >> reporter: conditions are looking pretty good right now, dray. they were also good on the way up this morning. travel on 76. the northeast extension, everything was good there. take a look at the roads right here, right now. they're pretty clear right now. overnight, penndot lifted the speed limit restrictions placed on roads throughout region because of the snow. allentown is where the heaviest snow fell. it reduced visibility and quickly covered roadways and sidewalks. crews were out all night salting and plowing the roads. we spoke to one woman at the height of the storm who was visiting her grandmother in allentown. although she drove, she decided it would be good to leave her car and walk home. >> everybody was talking about it coming. it came fast. heavy right away. >> reporter: and as we're taking a live look in allentown, this is 7th street at hamilton street. the roads at this point are just wet. there's a little bit of snow on t

nbc 10's pamela osborne is live where she's been talking to people getting ready for a dose of snow. i mean it is still winter, pam. we're still in february. >> reporter: yeah, but it's hard to imagine that it's going to be snowing tomorrow because it feels really good outside right now. we've seen people walk around in short sleeve shirts light workout clothes, people running errands trying to get through the day and to enjoy these temperatures. but, as we know, it's only a matter of time before the temperatures drop and we see some snow. you may have to do some calling around to find salt. if you're out of it at home, the first stop is home depot, they tell me they're completely sold out of salt at this point. we checked around and found the true value hardware center had plenty left on shelves. the 50 bound bag was on sale for $26.99. they had some smaller size on well as well as shovels and other winter accessories. we've been talking to people what their plans are. some of the people we spoke to didn't realize it was going to be snowing. others were aware and planning accordingl

pamela, a new report in the "new york times" this hour saying the president's lawyers, including john dow, jay sekulow and other advisers are saying don't do it, don't talk to bob mueller. you have been reporting with gloria borger on a lot of this over the past week. what can you tell us tonight? >> that's right, erin, in fact, the president's lawyers have been in the president's ears telling him for a long time he should not testify. the concern, it would be a perjury trap. it would be some fishing expedition and would basically set up the president to where he could be caught in a lie. as you know, the president has been outspoken about his desire to want to sit down with robert mueller. he even said he would love to do under oath, but under that caveat that he would only do it at the advice of his lawyers. they're making the argument to robert mueller's team that they have not met the threshold of interviewing the president. they are making the argument that the president isn't just like anyone else and that they haven't shown enough evidence to prove why they need to sit down to
